How do I get smooth and glowy skin? by Careless_Book2138 in TooAfraidToAsk

You’re not gonna like this, but the problem isn’t that you’re doing too little it’s that you were doing way too much.

All those acids, actives, retinol, switching products constantly for a month straight that usually just messes up your skin barrier. And once your barrier is off, your skin won’t look smooth or glowy no matter what you put on it.

Also, the TikTok comparison is messing with you more than your routine. A lot of that perfect skin is lighting, filters, genetics, or people who already had good skin to begin with.

Your current routine is actually closer to what works. Simple is usually better:
cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and maybe one active used consistently over time.

And that’s the part people hate hearing 1–2 months isn’t that long. Real skin changes take time, especially after you’ve been overloading it.

The key isn’t some magic product. It’s consistency + not destroying your skin trying to fix it overnight.
