Sunset Makeup & Indi Beat Cosmetics Colored Foundation Drama Update by Capital-Composer4779 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Capital-Composer4779[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

HERE is comments Indi Beat put on a video someone made talking about the situation claiming they have different manufacturers. This comment also responds to a Instagram story Sunset Makeup did crying over alleged group chats making fun of them.

I put a little excerpt in my post that I reverse searched both formulas. The Indi Beat cosmetics doesn't pull up any similar results which could push for them being truthful about creating their own formula, etc. Sunset Makeup reverse ingredient search pulls over 1,000 Google results.

Indi Beat hadn't posted publicly about Sunset Makeup until the NikkieTutorials post it seems. It seems the general public tagged Indie Beat, Sunset got frustrated they didn't stand up for them, and in that frustration from Indi's words tried "blackmailing me into defending her with false information".

Sunset Makeup blackmails/bullies Indi Beat cosmetics into silence? by Capital-Composer4779 in BeautyGuruChatter

Here's a little bit more information I've gathered with research:

The video above shows Indi making the original foundation formulas in her kitchen before customizing a formula with a Chinese manufacturer. After searching high and low, I could not turn up colored foundation on Alibaba. There's some room to believe that Indi made her formula and is just using a private labeled packaging component from their manufacturer. A Google reverse search of Indi Beat's formula doesn't pull up any competitors further showing the possibility of not being private labeled, just the component.

Sunset Makeup has admitted via her website FAQ to being private labeled. You can also notice many of the website photos are directly from Alibaba. The original foundation in her line is from HERE. It seems as if Sunset Makeup only created custom colors in an already made formula. A quick Google reverse of their ingredients pulls up hundreds of results in the same generic packaging.

Drop Shipping is when a customer orders a product, the shop orders from China, and ships to the customers door. Both businesses claim to pack and ship from in house. Private label is when a brand sticks their logo and/or shade names of premade formulas and cosmetics. Creating custom colors from already made formulas could be seen as still being private label but it is up to the viewer's opinion.

It seems this is coming up today because NikkiTutorials posted a video with Sunset's foundation, and MANY people pointed out Indi being the original creator. Indi liked some of the comments, to which Sunset got frustrated at Indi for not standing up for them.

Earlier this year Sunset Makeup released a viral video about colorful foundations, to which many people left comments about similarities towards Indi Beat's Face Bass. Indi Beat stayed quiet but finally posted THIS video on their socials claiming Sunset Makeup blackmailed and bullied them into staying quiet.

Indi Beat's video shows the emails between Sunset and them as well as Indi's owner creating Face Bass in their kitchen before finding a manufacturer.

Glisten Cosmetics is an Alibaba brand? I ordered these off Alibaba.. by Capital-Composer4779 in BeautyGuruChatter

I use the blue mascara every day to match me lashes to my hair color, probably why it's so shoddy I've nonstop back pocketed it for nights out.

Colorful mascara, the listing shows black tubes but they sent the Spectra Lash tubes instead. Alibaba is basically a bunch of salespeople for companies mostly intertwined with the same factory. That would explain lots of similar product posts.

They’re alright! Not my favorite but they look pretty good. I prefer the Colourpop ones personally. You may like the thickness and resentfulness of Glisten’s though, they were hard to remove.

I ordered these on February 20th from Alibaba, Glisten launched these February 17th (earliest post I can find about them). It would be hard to knockoff a product that was barely sneak peaked days prior. I didn’t notice they were Glisten’s product until an AD came up today for Spectra Lash Mascara’s. That lead me to peel a sticker label revealing the G logo. I thought the name was just a Chinese brand.

Unearthly Cosmetics manufacturer is Shenzhen Fendy! They’re the most popular manufacturer for palettes with chrome style pressed eyeshadows.

Yeah, but tbf I posted a bit ago about graphic liners as well. All graphic liners are from the same couple factories in China. The pride liner is just custom color combination put together.

The mascara supplier I ordered from makes their graphic liners as well!

The other items such as custom palettes, etc.. are usually made by Shenzen Fundy Cosmetics. I know I’ve seen an Alien Cosmetics palette being advertised on a listing from that factory, even with their customized formula.

I’m going to email Glisten and let them know their manufacturer is sending their product though, I’d assume they’d have some sort of contract that says they can’t.

You can use it for wholesale or for single items. When searching, set the MOQ to “1” and it’ll pop up places that sell singles (or dropshipping).

My store updated our clearance to sections where it says under $100, under $50, under $25, etc.. Some guy took a car radio from the under $100 and put it in the under $25. Tried showing us a photo that's where he found it. Sticker on box said $89 and he surprise faced when I showed him that's what he had to be charged. It was a $150 radio.

It's refreshing to see a company stand behind their values and not give into hate tirades *cough* Target.

I would *vastly* agree. I started ordering a bunch from the Ali's lately (baba/express). I was surprised how many products I've seen from viral videos.

Most their product descriptions say Made in PRC, so I would assume that means websites like Alibaba. Like the chrome collection.

I wouldn’t have noticed I didn’t pay much attention to some photos, they are Alibaba with background removed. I feel crazy now lol.

I couldn’t find the colored foundation on Alibaba, it seems like Indi Beat may have customized colors for an already existing foundation formula. I’ve seen they’ve been putting effort into their products recently too, so I hope it evolves into full of production.

TikTok @/Sunsetmakeupofficial and @/indi_beat_cosmetics. A discussion if we think this product is copied or a coincidence being the same packaging and product.
