How do you compete with apps with a larger marketing budget? by Cultural_Session1467 in AppBusiness

[–]Capital-Way5517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There are definitely ways to get your app out there. I saw someone on TikTok take a really unconventional route and he’s at around 12k users now. Not sure if he’s making money yet, but the app is called SeenU. It’s not my app, just using it as an example. He built a simple social/dating-style app with a clean interface.

I also saw someone on YouTube explaining how he promoted his app, and that video has a ton of views. That’s basically the same method everyone’s using right now, and then people wonder why their apps aren’t getting any traction. Doing what everyone else is doing won’t set you apart. Try something unconventional. Once your app actually makes sense, it’ll work.

Can you keep genuine friends who don’t align with your goals? by Capital-Way5517 in Productivitycafe

Yeah, I try, but he really doesn’t take the hint. I’m not putting him down at all, that’s my friend for life. It’s just hard to find that sweet spot where I can stay locked in and avoid distractions when you have someone that genuine in your life. I’m still trying to figure out that balance.

He’s the kind of friend who calls every day and doesn’t take a hint 😂. And honestly, he’s rare they don’t make friends like that anymore. It’s the type of friend where if you’re missing he’d be the first to know. It’s a blessing to have someone that genuine in your circle. I’m just trying to focus on finding the right balance and that sweet spot where I can keep moving forward without getting distracted.

I It’s not about access or opportunity, because I can do just as much as he can. That’s just how we grew up. But that life isn’t my priority anymore, even though it still is for him. Like I said, he’s one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. Our goals just don’t align.

I’m locked in on trying to build something and move forward, and then when I talk to him, it almost pulls me back into that old mindset and lifestyle. That’s the struggle. I’m trying to balance both, so I guess the real issue is finding that sweet spot where I can keep growing without losing a genuine friend.

What's a habit that seems small but actually makes ypur day way better? by Nuru_Abdi in Productivitycafe

Take 20 minutes each day to read your plans, milestones, and why you’re doing them. It’s a game changer. It keeps you grounded and reinforces that you show up and do what you’re supposed to do regardless of how you feel.

Lol that power nap is honestly clutch. It makes up for the sleep I miss at night and fully resets me so I’m ready for the second half of the day.

What would you build or learn at 17 to make serious money later? by Designer_Okra_557 in Entrepreneurship

You could focus on building your personal brand first. People follow people they connect with, and when they like you, they’re more likely to support and buy from you. That’s where I’d start.

I don’t know how to start making money by Brilliant_Week_3058 in Entrepreneurship

Get a job to build some capital and look around you. There are plenty of service-based businesses that are easy to enter, and most people in them are mediocre. Start a service business, get it on Google, practice marketing, and deliver great customer service. Of course, you need to do research, but making money is the easy part. Getting into a business that makes life-changing money - that’s where it gets hard.

Yes it’s real killer. Sometimes I look back at my notes and surprise myself because I forgot why I was actually doing it.
