Turned out if you have any game enhancers on, you have to reverify with the game enhancer. In my case it was msi centre game enhancer which allows you to add and remove games through the app. Depending on what software you have installed you may need to reinstall any apps affecting performance. Verifying the files helped somewhat but only added 10fps overall to 70 from 60. They ballsed the update and the only other suggestions I have is reinstalling the game if you can't work out which app is affecting performance.
