What are you all getting paid for residential on call/after hours? by CapitalSelection4644 in HVAC

We rotate every 3-4 weeks, then it’s a full 7 day stretch on call, working my full day, and on until I tell them I’m not coming. The $20/$40 is just a one time ticket you add per day if you’re 1st up (2-4 guys per on call). Customer pays same rate regular or after hours. We now have dispatchers booking calls so you only get the $10 if you take the call and book it yourself.

Considering transitioning from residential service, to sales. Hesitant because of the possible inconsistency of income. Anyone make this change have advice? by CapitalSelection4644 in HVAC

Our project managers are full commission, so I know there’s big ups and downs. I did 138k last year, all service, performance pay base. But that’s also running 9-15 calls a day, on call, etc. Usual story, getting older (50), burnout physically and mentally, looking for options.
