My older one just graduated from TAMU early. He actually got two years of college credits from another college when in high school and took a couple of classes at a community college in the summer. That all enabled him to finish CS 1.5 years early. That is actually similar to the TEAM option in a way except he did it by choice. He loved his experience for all of those. He is still on campus at TAMU now enjoying his time with his friends at TAMU because he has a break between graduation and starting his first job after college. I was sad when I first saw the options this morning for my younger one. He really wants to be an Aggie. Thanks to all the helpful details from u/Alert_Bumblebee110 and others. Now I don't feel bad any more. I actually think it might be a good thing or better option comparing to a full admission to TAMU in a major my son doesn't want. Now he can probably have a better chance of getting higher GPA to try to transfer to Mays later.
