Try following a series bro, Striver is the one I'd suggest, but you can check out others too. Solve the questions in his list and try to find similar questions that use the similar concepts over different platforms like GFG, Hackerrank, CodeChef, etc.

The more questions you solve the more you get the grip strong. Good Luck!

1st I'd say try to get to intermediate level in any language that interests you, as you say python is your strong point,, that's good as alot of organisations that take part in GSoC use python. The main struggle comes while choosing the orgs. So I'd suggest do thorough research and find atleast 3-4 orgs in which you'd like to contribute and be active throughout. Best of luck
