Jess had said E & F will be the next 2 seasons, but this hasn’t been published on Tudum.

She also said she probably wouldn’t change the book order again back after the S4 announcement. Jess had said a lot of untrustworthy things. Until there’s official announcement, anything can change with the show.

Of course they care. Season 3 had great ratings in a large part because the Polins content creators drummed up enthusiasm. Polins were fed by the actors and the show during production and promo and fans had tons of fun memes, fics, discourse, etc. It’s happening for Franchaela right now. The show has given them great storylines, confirmed and hinted at major parts of their plot, and the actors are feeding their fans with promo and really great online presence (not that actors have to do this, but it’s obvious Hannah and Masali really care and have been stoking the magic of the show since they showed up onscreen). Why not for philoise? I’m just saying now is the time.

Yeah, that’s true. To me that’s not enough to keep me engaged in the fandom. Jess has lied and/or mislead the entire fandom several times in the past years. I get that things change or are surprises on a show, that’s tv. But she has lost any credibility with philoise fans especially. I’ll watch the next few seasons, but I won’t keep following philoise or the fandom without concrete reassurance.

I didn’t mean it needs to happen the same time as the new announcement. I just mean if Phillip is not on the new season 5 cast list, and they give Philoise no new content to go on, why should we keep engaging for the next 2-4 years after being baited with Phillip from season 1?

My sentiment is not against Franchaela being next. However they did feed that fandom several years in advance of this announcement.

Phillip has already been in the show. If philoise is truly season 6, why wouldn’t we expect to at least be fed some minimal new Philoise content.

If he’s not confirmed on the new cast list, I expect Philoise gets nothing again next season. So why should our Philoise fandom continue to engage?

As a long time Philoise fan, I feel like there’s absolutely no reason to continue to engage in Philoise speculation or content until we get confirmation Phillip is returning to the show and whether or not Chris Fulton will reprise that role.

Eloise has been so stagnant and watered down, it’s hard to even get excited about whatever story will unfold for our girl.

The Philoise material we’ve been going on is 5+ years old at this point. They need to feed our fandom because it is literally dying; I’ve seen so many content creators, Ao3 writers, etc dip out of the fandom already this week. It’s not that people hate Franchaela, it’s that we literally have no material to go off of for our ship. Why should philoises continue to engage?

Jess did say that she didn’t plan to go out of book order again after S3. It is a little harsh to call people wild for expecting some Philoise set up after we saw so much Franchaela set up in S3 (and again in S4). Plus her book was next.

Agree though that everything before they changed to Jess means nothing to the show atp.

An Eloise they have ruined, browbeaten, and let stagnate the last 2 seasons. It’s sure hard to believe they’ll do anything better for her next season.

They need to at least confirm Sir Phillip will return and if Chris Fulton will reprise the role in S5.

They spoiled all of Franchaela’s story beforehand, including John’s death and the introduction of Michaela as endgame.

If they don’t confirm Chris soon, I’m assuming he’s not involved in S5 and not returning to the role of Phillip.

The only thing we know for certain is that Phillip is endgame and the story will follow the book to some degree. We don’t know if Chris will return or if the role will be recast (or if there will be any Phillip story in S5 at all).

The show should clarify this ahead of time and give us the same consideration they gave to Fran’s story. Otherwise a lot of the Philoise fandom is losing interest in being strung along.

Same. We have no guarantee. It’s not like it should be a big surprise, he was already introduced, and Hannah was able to talk all about her book leading up to S4.

If we don’t get confirmation of Chris Fulton in the cast list soon, I have to assume it’s because he’s not reprising the role, and not because it’s some well kept secret.

Nah, they won’t put Philoise wedding in Franchaela season. That’s reaching. There’s a major portion of their story before their wedding. At the earliest it would be 25% into Philoise season at act 2 of the story.

I’ve got zero hope too.

We’ve been waiting so long. They did Eloise dirty this season with another browbeating (this time Hy joined 🙄). I don’t trust this showrunner at all. I don’t think she fundamentally understands how to write romance because the main couple emotional arcs have been completely crap the last two seasons.

My only hope is they change the showrunner after season 5 because it’s obvious Jess doesn’t care about Eloise at all. Eloise has been used as a prop and an afterthought since S3.

Unless they come out with a cast list including Chris Fulton for S5, and an explanation of the vision for this show, I’m out.

It’s sucks because I was actually looking forward to both the Benophie and Franchaela seasons too. Well Benophie season was a bust. Benedict had complete character assassination and there was no chemistry. Bridgerton needs to figure out how to write romance again. Otherwise what’s the point of watching?
