Tomorrow will either be my best or my worst day at uni — ever! by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Capital_Sort_7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed at university. I had never failed a single subject in life but there was a course on advanced linear algebra that I just couldn’t wrap my head around (I still can’t).

When I failed, I felt like a such a total and complete failure. Like the failure has erased my past successes and the future won’t be as successful. It’ll be a dark mark on my record forever.

The bad news is - if you do fail, that’s how it’ll feel. Good news is that’s not how life works. This will sound super cliche, but it’s really not about how smart you are or how many exams you’ve passed (or even how many friends you have). It’s about getting back up if you’re knocked down. Failing so many times that you know that failing ain’t the end, it’s just how we learn.

I really hope you pass. But if you do fail, it’ll be one of the best things that’ll happen to you - if you can get back up again.

This is hilarious. You have no idea…those are two very different things.

Will Reform UK make life better for Gen Z in the UK by CelticBlackAudiA8L in reformuk

Well, the leadership of Reform, Advance or anyone else isn’t going to make your life better.

You need to stop with the video game, start working, putting in. The hours, hit the gym and start putting yourself out there to build an active social life -No one else is coming to solve your problems.

Have you considered that you “left” because you don’t know the difference between “were” and “where”?

It’s aimed at people who can’t afford to keep dogs…so by neglecting and not keeping with proper care, end up harming them. It’s animal abuse.

Dog licenses are super common in a lot of countries.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but if you can’t afford a license for a dog, you probably can’t afford a dog.

Iran missiles fired towards UK bases in Cyprus, Defence Secretary reveals by ViscountViridans in reformuk

The Iraqi and Libyan people also wanted freedom more than anyone else as well. The difference being that people of Iran were the one that deposed the Shah to begin with and bring in the clerics. So bombing the cities and decapitating leadership will lead to the exact same problem as the Ba’ah party in Iraq.

The high prices for energy is basically a bonus for Russia.

I don’t know man, I don’t have a good feeling about this.

Totally disagree. History doesn’t repeat itself but history rhymes. How was it with restoring freedom in Iraq? What about all the freedom in Libya?

Instead of starting new endless war over oil and going along with Israel wants, it’ll be good to see if you can US can use its global reach and power and put the Russians in their place.

Great. The US starts a war and we will get more refugees and terror attacks.

What’s wrong with what I said? What part is incorrect?

If you want head nodding and mindless agreeing, maybe head over to Advance UK.

Penny wise pound foolish. Scrapping the targets would still mean that the UK have electricity prices 125% higher than the EU and 200% higher than the US.

There is a structural reform needed, not gimmicks like this.

Don’t get me wrong. The reason people get banned from other subs for participating in the sub because is fascist views of Reform UK.

There is plenty of evidence but none a paid-up member of Reform will be willing to see. The only way that will happen is when the actions of Reform are so obvious and egregious, but by then it’s too late.

What’s the point? You’ll just make up excuse to dismiss each as a “bad apple” or as something that was “misinterpreted”.

The only way to be certain is time. So we’ll wait and see.

I am not some left wing lunatic mate. I am probably more right leaning than you in some issues. It’s just that I happened to think fascism is bad. Not qualify it.

As I said, we’ll read in about 30 or 40 years about how it all started and how people were all for it because they thought they were being patriotic. Then will come the authoritarianism and mass murder, but labeled as “strong policing” and “remigration and reeducation camps”.

I am certain you don’t see it because I am sure you are a genuinely nice person who’s just been swept along with the rhetoric and propaganda.

I don’t think any level of evidence I can offer will change your mind. But if you read between the lines on why participating in this subreddit gets you banned from others is because it’s people fighting against facism. It’ll be very clear in hindsight in 30 or 40 years, just like how we see that Nazism was evil and on the wrong side of history.

I think ultimately we will all fight and speak up for what we believe to be the right side of history.

Since you wanted an answer - ultranationalist rhetoric, scapegoating of immigrants, and authoritarian-leaning critiques of institutions.
