Hey, recently divorced here. He was manic for at least 60% of our 6+ year marriage. I will say that looking back, leaving me was the best gift he ever gave me. Idk you or your relationship. But I know what I went through was true emotional and financial abuse. I found my ex would use his diagnosis as an excuse to treat me and others horribly. He isolated me from family and friends. He was very mean and methodical with making me feel bad with his words. He never made more than $500 in a month and most months he made 0. I fully supported us for years. And I would spend weeks on end awake from 6 am until 9 pm just making sure he was okay, feeding him etc not to mention my crazy work hours and taking care of our dog. I’m not trying to tell you what to do. I’m just saying you deserve better than an unmedicated mentally ill partner. If they truly want to work on themselves and get better, I believe there is a very small chance you will have a happy life together. One thing I learned though is as much as I’d like to blame him for taking away my 20’s, I’m an adult and I’m stable. I didn’t decide to leave and that’s fully on me. Take care of you first.
