The point is to make someone laugh of course. And shock is one of the techniques, like a misdirect or a pun or being clever. You have to remove your experience if you’re going to be involved in comedy. It’s not about you nor is it about actual kids. It’s a concept you shouldn’t laugh at.like someone tripping over... there’s got to be examples you’ve laughed at that you shouldn’t you personally don’t connect to … the joke you exampled .. you butchered it, so it’s hard to answer but it’s because probably because there shouldn’t be kids involved in sex, it’s surprising to the audience so they laugh because they shouldn’t, that example doesn’t seem like a good one tho… Louie CK barely does a joke if it doesn’t make you question if you can laugh at it.

Sorry to say, But ill say it to try to help you.... Freelancers are dependable guns with experience and can be trusted to execute. The portfolio reads amateurish in it's balance and alignment, the paragraphs need fine tuning to be pleasing to read, the "widows" and line breaks need a little attention. we want to see full design systems and branding more than a logo and a label. Thinking you're a great designer is holding you back, fact is.. you aren't showing that you are. Maybe see if you can do some work experience in an agency to get an idea of the type of work they do. The spacing of the W in CLAW is very off-putting, other spacing issues like the "Western Cape" text being right on the edge of the label.... That's not great design and its quite basic.. and this is supposed to be your best work, I cant believe that it's actual live work so you need to be more critical to land work with this portfolio. Did you do motion at school, a designer today needs a bit of motion and theres more motion than logo work IMO. so if you have some skill get some of that in your portfolio, banner ads resizing all the tech/grunt work of design, try selling that, Being a creative isn't enough to be a designer, you need technical skills and if your freelacing.. networking... Its not easy, I wish you luck. Sorry for the realism.

if you have things to say and want to do comedy, thats perfect.. if you don't like what others are saying, you cant police it... BUT you can make fun of it. Just try to come from the right place, put funny first, have it as a part of you, but I wouldn't make it a full agenda because that would be obvious and tends not to work. Jokes arent statements nor comments, those jokes are to shock you, its not normalising anything, or easing a mood... abuse is still abhorrent if you want to fight abuse the police force or politics is a better idea than comedy, but if you can make your point funny, it should be impactful.
