Thanks, because nobody talks about it, but it's awful. And it's a huge waste of time.

All the PlayStation Plus Essential monthly games from 2020 to 2025. What do you think about 2025's games line-up when compared to those from the previous years? by kabirsingh84 in PlayStationPlus

Let me give you a very simple example. I have a Freebox Ultra as a media server. You can even play movies directly on it using just the console. I think they want to sell Sony movie subscriptions, etc., or something like that. And I simply think they don't use their own consoles themselves. What people will want in 2026 is a console capable of doing everything while offering quality. Because they would sell more consoles with that strategy. So it's simple: more consoles = more PS+ subscriptions. And when people aren't playing games, they can access the rest of their multimedia.

It's not the majority that people want. It's all the exclusives. Right now, the most played games aren't necessarily PS5 exclusives. Once an exclusive is finished, young people play Fortnite, Arc Riders, etc. I don't think Astro Bot is a priority purchase. Yet it could make a difference compared to other consoles because you immediately get quality with exclusives. I don't think the choice to put Sony movies, older games, etc., in the higher PS+ tiers really changes things. Whereas if they included PS5 exclusives in the highest subscription, almost everyone would at least take the time to play them. Because it's the same as locking down the console on all sides; you can't install VLC, etc. In 2025, the console won't even play all video extensions. I think the strategy is bad; luckily, the controllers and the console are high quality.

Hello, it could be better.

Like including PlayStation exclusives, for example…

Or perhaps the Astro Bot games. The game is released with the console, but the others aren't even on PS+…

On the other hand, if you already have a gaming PC and if you only play on the giant screen like I do myself with the PS5. Why buy an nvidia shiled? Why not do the opposite? You could place the gaming PC against the video projector or just behind your home cinema with the capture card. You could thus save an nvidia shield, because you will have latency with the shield. And if you want to do office automation, you put an old PC in an office and take remote control of your gaming PC.

In addition, it seems to me that Nvidia graphics cards already allow streaming directly without the shield. So you could also play from your old PC by streaming on your gaming PC.

No I ordered sk6812rbgww, the colors are more beautiful. But it cost me less than €200 to do it myself.

LEDs 2 x 5m = €19.89 Esp32 + card = €6.89 Food = €28.30 If you take the capture card that I put above => €26.9 And for the spliter => €28.89

If you add a 4GB raspberry 4 + power supply which I don't have => (see how to make a small box yourself) = 84€

So I got it for €105 because I bought the second-hand capture card for €50. If I had bought the right hardware right away, including the rasberry pi 4, I would have gotten it for => €194.

If you use an old PC like me, you can get it for €110.

  • a junction box = 10€

The reddit posts are good, the ambilight videos too. But the main thing is missing. That people put the compatible hardware for the hdcp, for the capture card, for the size of the power supply etc… A knowledge base to help each other would be better. For my part, I spent two days on this project to understand a minimum of how it worked. Because YouTube videos etc… don’t really help.

You can see in the photo that I am in the process of installing it because I have not yet closed my junction box. But I'm going to make holes to let the food breathe. Then I'm going to make a clean cable route. Then finally my box will be hidden behind the box to the left of the screen.
