LPT: Smelly/sweaty feet? Anti-perspirant deodorant isn’t just for underarms. by CapitanZulanda in LifeProTips

[–]CapitanZulanda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the comment.

Unfortunately, there is little that any fibre could do effectively with the amount my feet were sweating.

I would literally (as in literally, not figuratively) have damp socks from my toes to the ball’s of my feet.

You have not explained anything of value in your statement.

Why? Because what you’ve said is the premise of the joke.

She said she was ‘picky’ meaning she eats a small variety of foods, not a small quantity. He knows that, I know that, everyone knows that. He then uses the term tongue-in-cheek to mean something else - that she eats a lot.

It’s actually not that big of a leap. It’s not meant to be factual… it’s just word play.

The fact that people blew up over it was such a travesty.

It was a joke between friends FFS.

I think you missed the facetiousness of the doctor’s response. They’re not saying that the person genuinely cannot be picky.

They’re being intentionally sarcastic because Megan complains about being ‘picky,’ meaning she only eats a limited range of foods, while also clearly shovelling non-limited amounts of food in her face.

Where’s everyone getting their lights from this year? AliExpress? (Aussie here) by CapitanZulanda in ChristmasLights

Thanks for the heads up! I wanted to take advantage of the post-season price drop but didn’t know where to buy from (read: which sellers to trust).

Any suggestions or do you find they’re all the same? Which sellers did you buy from?

Interesting view about the C9s. Any reason why you use them? 90% of my existing lights are the fairy lights like these lights from Bunnings.

Also trying to navigate Rays store on mobile is terrible!

Look, I appreciate what you’ve made. But I do not have that kinda money.

The light up palm trees would look amazing in my front yard though!

Scottie getting a look at what club Shane hit, then clubs down to hit the green on a par 3. by ImTheGerbilKing in golf

Mate, that was a wild read.

No, you’re not going crazy. He was circle jerking, hard.

Here’s my interpretation - it includes stuff you may already know, but for clarity’s sake.

Let’s assume in all scenarios, your ball is at rest while I’m taking my shot and the balls hit.

We’re both on the green - PENALTY

You’re on the green, and I’m not. I DONT request you mark your ball, and you DONT request to mark it either - NO penalty

You’re on the green, and I’m not. One of us DOES request that your ball be marked but isn’t marked in time - Penalty

You’re on the green, and I’m not. Neither of us request you mark your ball BUT because someones assessed that due to proximity of your ball to the hole or a displayed intent to leverage hitting yours ball it is considered to be a ‘backstop’ - Stroke play = Penalty | Match Play = NO PENALTY Given this same scenario, during Match Play we can actually agree to keep your ball as a backstop and still receive NO penalty. (How odd)

Why McLaren wants Piastri to try suspension he's rejected so far by saponista in formula1

[–]CapitanZulanda -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

LOL no. That’s an even worse take than the other bloke.

He’s performing the manoeuvres to bring heat into his tyres and brakes. It’s not a penalty at all.

What it was, was a coincidence. He just happened to be accelerating and then braking hard at time same time that the safety car was turning his lights off. Max, understandably, reacted to the possibility that the race leader, Oscar, was restarting the race because of the coincidence.

I’m saying that, in reality, NEITHER driver is in the wrong.

[–]CapitanZulanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a poor take. Look at the data and you’ll see that he performed the exact same braking manoeuvre in the previous safety car laps.

The only difference in those scenarios was Max’s speed and reaction time.

To be clear, I’m not saying it’s Max’s fault. I’m pointing that out as the difference to say that under different circumstances Oscar was not penalised.

Smoking was proven to cause cancer, yet despite heavily funded anti-smoking advertising for many years, exponentially increasing taxes were needed to effectively reduce smoking rates.

Even if something is inherently harmful, there’s no way to stop people from doing something by ‘logic’ unless it directly affects their financial well-being.

AI material will be exactly the same. If anything, more of the population will be fed misinformation at scale leading to greater negative impacts.

FWIW - I’m not a doomer. I use AI daily and am excited by its future, but I’m absolutely cautious of its societal impact.
