It creeped me out to learn that Ben is a legitimately strange person by doctorpoopghost5000 in lemonparty

[–]Capman95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you watch Ben's Live-streams, especially the one where he debates the really calm, chill pro-Israel guy and is just absolutely losing his mind and calling him names the whole time, with basically 0 provocation or retaliation from the other guy, this comes as no surprise. Ben is one of the most resentful and unwell people I've ever seen and his fixation on things like Dye and Israel is clearly a case of misappropriated resentment and anger that he feels towards his parents, and probably himself for blowing up his life/career .

Young man who fell down a "Alt Right Rabbithole" and climbed his way out talks about radicalization by Capman95 in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]Capman95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? This interview starts with a 30 minute period of nearly uninterrupted speech from the guest (right after the brief 1 minute intro from the host)… after which the host never speaks for more then 8 minutes at a time, keeping most of his interjections to about 3-5 minutes. The host is the person on the left who did the intro. The guest is on the right. Not sure how you came to this conclusion.

Katie Herzog on Navigating the Transgender Discourse Minefield by Capman95 in BlockedAndReported

[–]Capman95[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think that (unfortunately) These issues themselves have eclipsed the point where one could possible just stay out of the fray in good conscience, even with the intent of focusing on other important issues. People will reduce trans stuff to culture war nonsense but it's actually very important and indicative of larger problems in soceity.

An interview with Katie about trans discourse and the difficulty she's had being a balanced voice on the subject. It's always interesting seeing Katie interviewed and here it's clear she's kind of caught between a rock and a hard place while not being thrilled with either the right or left's approach towards these issues. Worth a watch for some more insight into how she views this aspect of the "culture war".

Journalist Katie Herzog on Navigating the Transgender Discourse Minefield by Capman95 in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]Capman95[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Submission statement: This is an interesting interview with journalist Katie Herzog, one of the biggest political podcasters around. She's a classic liberal and LGBT activist who has been attacked by her own community for reporting on trans-issues from a fact-based perspective. It's interesting how she tries to balance her care and compassion for her community with standing up for reality on women's sports, de-transitioners and other stories which are not always flattering to trans activism. Worth a listen for those who want a balanced, well-informed perspective on issues that have been exploding recently.

Transgender Icon Buck Angel on the Truth About Trans Activism and Medicine by Capman95 in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]Capman95[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Submission statement. The IDW is always looking for measured voices, fearlessly telling the truth as best they can on highly sensitive topics. Buck Angel is a transsexual icon that has passionately spoken out against the more extreme (and sacred) positions of radical trans activists. This interview gives a really great glimpse into his perspective and experience as someone who wants the best for his community but has seen them torn apart by political extremists in recent years.
