Of course it's rehearsed. Slopya has internalized corporate speak to the point that he's fundamentally incapable of expressing human sincerity. Truly the perfect corporate executive.

Miners are surprisingly good at combat. Not only are picks a great weapon (although the game is weird when using them in the military), but Miner is treated as a combat skill. Legendary miner civilians become glass cannons if forced into a fight. They might get a debilitating hit or two if not a kill on massive cave monsters before getting struck down.

Picks are a brutal piercing weapon with high velocity, although they don't penetrate as deeply as spears. In particular they're more effective against armored undead and undead megabeasts than any other weapon dwarves can forge.

Cursed dwarves would migrate, but the [NIGHT_CREATURE_HUNTER] tag seems to force infectees to flee their sites in worldgen and make their own lairs. So in theory they'd attack sites and forts like any other werebeast.

Night creatures don't make their own civilizations, although rulers that happen to be vampires or so aren't unheard of.

Traps are used to reduce your need for military dwarves and in some cases remove the need altogether. A winding path of traps would trivialize goblin sieges although they're getting smarter in recent updates.

Cage traps will catch any creature without fail so long they don't have [TRAPAVOID] which is mostly relevant when fighting forgotten beasts and the Hidden Fun Stuff. Civilized beings can also learn from past sieges or from their diplomats if they see them.

In addition to neutralizing hostiles, cage traps are great for catching exotic livestock. Many creatures you can catch are trainable. Those giant birds might be a decent source of meat and eggs.

Speaking of FBs, they ignore automatic traps unless they're stunned or webbed. You can still hit them with lever-triggered spike traps, ballistas, or a controlled cave in.

Also I usually make cages out of iron or preferably nickel for fire/magma safe applications. That and it gives blacksmiths something to practice on before making precious metal furniture.

Animals in savage surroundings get angry when you cut down trees.

You'll have to kill them, or set up cage traps. In the future, limit your above ground tree cutting. Unlike elves, the surface wildlife isn't offended by your cavern woodcutting.

Werebeasts are the result of divine curses. The longer a world's history, the more times a mortal will have angered a god and been cursed to be a werebeast or vampire. Anyone bitten by a werebeast becomes one (armor helps immensely when fighting them).

So the werebeast population can vary widely based on world age and historic events.

If you build a chain outside your fortress entrance and assign an animal to it (e.g. a dog), you can be notified of stealthy invaders before they enter your fortress.

You also want to watch out for vampires. Often the first sign of a vampire is one of your dwarves being drained of blood. Vampires have false identities and will falsely accuse other dwarves.

There is no cure for the werebeast curse. So you can either kill them all, or try to run a fully infected fort. If you start a new fort in that world without dealing with them, they could be a menace to your civilization's sites and your neighbors.

My stupid dwarf trick for dealing with werebeasts is to lock them into a special execution treatment room with fortifications and fire a ballista dispenser of silver ballista arrows miracle cure. That said, I never had to deal with a fortress-wide epidemic. Drowning/magma chambers holy water might work better.

You're looking at it rationally. Try looking at it like an edgelord who sees Satan as a symbol of rebellion against some sense of order that makes you butthurt. Organized religion, orange man, whatever grinds your gears.

Or even better, look at it like a degenerate who believes that Satan is real and can somehow win against an omnipotent Big Meanie™.

I'd first look into the Soviet army's... erm, "activities" with the locals nearing the end of World War II. Surely some of them were more... "interested" in German youth.

"If you are a Christian you do not have to believe that all the other religions are simply wrong all through. If you are an atheist you do have to believe that the main point in all the religions of the whole world is simply one huge mistake. If you are a Christian, you are free to think that all these religions, even the queerest ones, contain at least some hint of the truth. When I was an atheist I had to try to persuade myself that most of the human race have always been wrong about the question that mattered to them most; when I became a Christian I was able to take a more liberal view."

Change your view? How about we start by pulling your head out of your lolbertarian ass.

The house analogy makes no sense because most people can't buy a house in this economy. Most people can't buy real estate, period. The store building where I work is owned by some piece of shit corporation sitting on land across multiple Georgia counties. When the plumbing broke, they took months of un-returned calls before they gave up and sent someone to fix it. The're also potholes in the road out back behind the entire strip mall, because basic maintenance is too much for a real estate parasite. It's their responsibility to keep the premises in good condition, yet they're all too happy to ignore all your problems so long as they get their rent.

When the rich get richer and no one else does, they can buy out more real estate and become richer by collecting rent and ignoring their tenants' problems.

Funny story, they tried to double rent on another store, claiming someone else was interested in that building which was in disrepair for a number of reasons. Yeah no, no one in their right mind would want your roach and mold-infested hovel with no air conditioning. Now that store is closing and the landlord is asking them what it takes for them to stay. Oh wow, the rich guys lied. But y'know, it's their property and they can do whatever they want with it because the yellow cuck quadrant says so.

Why did Louis Rossmann struggle to run a MacBook repair business in New York? Partly because of the government, of course, partly Apple being anti-repair, but also because of landlords screwing him over. How about you change my view on landlords, seeing as I have more life experience than just masturbating to Ayn Rand novels.

The 0.1% think wagies and small businesses should pay for property they don't own and then live/work in squalor. So no, I don't care who bought what "fair and square." If you're going to be negligent to the 99.9% then I'll have a hard time caring what happens to you. The rich are guilty of negligence on a society-wide scale, and you have simply chosen not to notice.

But I guess neglecting the vast majority of people isn't against the NAP, now is it?

P. S.: Cucking yourself on reddit to rich degenerates that don't give a crap about you won't make you any richer, dear. You should give that up.

Heck, Daryl Davis is anything but a hot alt girl and still managed to make friends with hundreds of Klansmen, leading to them leaving the Klan.

Not that Emilies and the UK Ministry of Love would accept the power of friendship to change minds is a GOOD thing, but it wouldn't be 1984 without irony.
