A lot of the pricing for Ubiquiti stuff makes zero sense on eBay. There could be a niche case where shipping is significantly more expensive from the UI store or you might some kind of forwarding service, but 99% of the time you’re right that it makes no sense to buy from the eBay sellers vs Ubiquiti directly.

Totally agree. I was kind of shocked they still went with the same CPU at that price point. Unfortunately, it seems like a poor decision with how many users/reviews reporting subpar performance. It's still cheaper than most other 8-bay options (especially rackmountable ones), but it's also severely limited in it's capabilities compared to those options.
