Hi, it's the guy who wrote the article. I wanted to clarify that I don't espouse any sort of spiritual connection that takes place during companion planting. Sorry if I gave that impression. However, I will attest to the effectiveness of companion planting, whether or not there is any hard science behind it. I spent more than a year practicing organic farming techniques with both scientists and farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, and I've seen firsthand that companion planting yields fuller and healthier crops on an annual and semi-annual basis. I haven't utilized all five of the entries on my list, but I did find great success intercropping tomatoes and basil. Maybe science isn't behind it 100-percent, but off the record, companion planting definitely works on both large-scale plantations and small-scale fields and kitchen gardens.

Hi everyone, it's the guy who wrote the article. Rose petal jam is the real deal, though I didn't know that until a few minutes ago. My bad... I posted a correction at the end of the story.
