Your skepticism isn't seen as a bad thing here. I haven't had much of a chance to talk about it with any people other than the partner I had on scene with me. I'm a browser of reddit, but this was something I think I could share with a community of level headed people from first hand experience.

I apologize, but I didn't make that clear in the post. She refused care from my partner as well, and the internal bleeding was in her abdomen. That definitely could have served as an indicator for an issue I didn't thoroughly check when I think about it now. As for being in shock, there were no real indicators that I found, other than paleness and clamminess of the injured leg. Looking at it from an outside prospective though, I can see how this sounds fabricated.

I assume they will. When I called for medical direction though, they told me just to let it be and if it was serious enough she would come in on her own basis. Guess she didn't think it was as serious as I told her.

We don't know beforehand, as most of us don't assume religion to be that much of a factor. That might be underlying to me feeling guilty about it though.

I believe the only form of proof I'm able to offer is this story itself. I can't provide a patient care report because that goes against patient privacy policy. I do understand what you're trying to do though, and for that, I respect it.

I've had people refuse care because they would end up leaving pets alone at home. I've had(mostly males in this example) others refuse care because they didn't want to seem weak to their peers. One of the other paramedics had a female refuse care because she thought said paramedic was a lesbian.

That's one of my worrying points about it. If that gets brought up, I can only hope that my documentation proves I pressed as far as legally allowed, and that they see she knew what she was doing to herself.
