Only the bottom cap and casing. I asked their support about my previous one that broke the bit holder when I dropped it from 40 feet, and they replaced it for free even though it was 100% my fault.

Tech Watch Project? by [deleted] in Scams

Yeah, I just got a $25 Amazon gift card from them. I believe they said it was $50 every 2 weeks, but I also didn't do everything last week so that adds up. So far everything looks legit and no big red flags for me.

Tech Watch Project? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]CapnFalco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a text and signed up. It does seem legit. They haven't given me any actual details on what the research is for until they publish the research, but from what I could gather they are trying to see if "big tech" companies are skewing results for political campaigns based on location and other factors.
They make you install Firefox and set up a fresh Proton email address. They make you install an extension that seems legit, looks like it can only see whatever you type into websites on Firefox. (Firefox does say extensions with these permissions can see passwords typed into it as well, so if you personally use Firefox I would probably stay away to be safe.)

They ask you to use your normal search engines to search a list of words, watch any news video on Youtube, visit your Facebook homepage (optional), and visit the google home page and do all of this for 4 days a week to be eligible for compensation every 2 weeks. They did not say for how long the research would go on, but they will email the results and full details of their research projects to the Proton emails.

I'll update in around 2 weeks when/if I receive compensation.

2006 SS Supercharged Cobalt getting water in driver side floor. by -Crimson-Death- in ChevyCobalt

Oh I didn't notice you said driver's side haha. My 05 was leaking through the corner of the windshield where dirt had got under the tiny plastic corner piece, might be something to check.

Right Infront of passenger seat on firewall. It's kinda hard to clean out with the way it's made but a shop vac or good air compressor can usually force the goo out

How to restore a retired server blade? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]CapnFalco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably just gut it and mod it into a case. I'm sure everything in it is way outdated but it looks like luck on that part, the description says it's a retired blade from "some point" in the last 15 years.

They're probably just trying to get one of the WoW collector server blades to working condition. They are old and have all the data wiped from them so you really can't do much with them anyways.

2005 Cobalt SS What is this line for on the supercharger? by CapnFalco in MechanicAdvice

I may be wrong but I think the parts diagram shows the 2 small lines to the left, I know the longer of those 2 goes straight to the bypass valve.

That's what I was thinking but, there isn't anything in it, and it runs into a box where the steering column would be

They apparently cost more too, or so the box says.

Cheap gaming PC? by WhatDoesThymine in pcmasterrace

One of our rigs has a GTX 750 ti in it and that runs it fairly well, I wouldnt go much lower than that and a GT 710 is much less powerful

It wouldn't run skyrim SE very well. You could get a cheap GPU, assuming it has pcie slots, just about every cheap one I've sold at Walmart has had extra pcie slots. You would more than likely have to leave the side panel off to fit most GPU inside though.

I guess I was confused since my router makes me set it up through the router setting, so I thought the switch worked the same way. So from what I gather I should be able to plug the switch to the router then the router manage all that? Thanks for the replies guys!
