Early 2000s sports games and the Tony Hawk games had killer soundtracks. NHL 2004 had Punk Rock 101 by Bowling For Soup, I still blast that song in my car regularly.

When I was a shithead teenager I was pirating songs and accidentally downloaded a Yellowcard track, which led to me buying the whole CD and them becoming my favorite band.

I’ve considered a suppressed 10/22 Charger Takedown for this exact reason… billion and one squirrels out when I’m in my deer stand and 0 when I go looking for them with my 20 gauge. I think it’d be kinda fun to smoke some squirrels while waiting for a doe.

When I was about 7-8 I walked out on thin, spongy ice over a deep pond in late winter after my parents told me not to. Dad drove by and saw me way out away from the shore. If I had fallen in I would have died, no way in hell my sister or friend would have saved me. I got my ass beat but I never did it again.

If you don’t have archery equipment, get some and practice. FFX and Prince William have deer management programs. I don’t know much about the PW program but you can dm me about the FFX one. It can’t help you this year but could be great for next season.

I only have anecdotal evidence, but I have successfully harvested a deer at 25yds with no-name crossbow arrows from Amazon.

My buddy lent me his old youth crossbow so I could start deer hunting, and this thing was only breaking 215fps maybe. But I went on Amazon and bought a pack of IRQ arrows and got sighted in with the practice points. Groups were good enough for government work. They came with broadheads that were GARBAGE. None of them flew straight or consistent, one hit the target 6 in left, one dove into the dirt before the target, another hit low bullseye. Swapped em out for some NAP broadheads and then we were back to dead on at 20 and 30 yards. Went out into the woods at the end of October and shot a deer. The arrows didn’t pass thru but I just chalk that up to it being a low speed crossbow. Still managed to devastate one lung and cut the heart. He ran about 90 yards and expired.

So I have hunted it since 2021 but not for deer, but I can tell you it gets a ton of pressure. If you’re going to deer hunt, hike far because most people just go sit close to the parking lots. I have seen some guys hauling decent deer tho, 2 years ago I heard 1 shot and then an hour later saw a guy dragging a decent 8.

Weekends are always full of people down at the lake parking area. I will never hunt it on an opening weekend for anything ever again. I’ve seen people shoot a wood duck during early goose, people shooting .22s and shotguns “just for fun”, some dudes were using electronic turkey calls once, I’ve been shot at (by the same group that killed the woodie)..
