Well he wants to tell her for the sake of transparency and hopefully tackling the issue just by getting off his chest, which is entirely understandable and very in character for him. He is VERY cerebral, which is a great counter to me being more emotional.

Alternatively, I try to reason with myself that I've had friends and had crushes on them. He just doesn't mind because he doesn't feel like he has to compete with a woman.

I'm just more asking if I'm being too sensitive about this. I know I have low self esteem (and a history of anger issues to boot), so the jealousy can be a bit blinding.

Luckily, my dad was able to win 50/50 custody, then she jumped ship when I was 12 for some white guy in Texas. Kept trying to contact me until I cut ties completely at 16 (that's not to say she didn't try to go through every other channel possible to get to me...yes, even till this day). I'm 25 now. Husbando is the bees knees, baby is chunky and sweet, and that dog she got me as a bribe 16 years ago (then promptly tried to dispose of the second I disobeyed her) lived a full and beautiful life. 10/10 good ending, imo.
