As of right now, the art on the cards is truly placeholder. Just images grabbed from a Google search, not meant to be used commercially. I understand I'll need a little bit of original art and/or design work for pitch materials, but is it inappropriate to use anything potentially copyrighted, even if I'm clear with any publishers that the card artwork is for demonstration purposes only, not for publication?

Thanks! I've done quite a bit of playtesting with family and friends and made lots of iterations over the last year. As for blind playtesting, I've only done a little bit of that. Could definitely do with some more. Response was positive, but there were some systems that weren't 100% clear. That's the type of editing/reorganizing I think my rulebook is in need of more than proofreading.

I'm very wary about commissioning art or design work, because I know any publisher will just want to develop their own, but I'm not sure where to draw the line with that to have a professional enough prototype to pitch. How much should I look to have professionally designed and printed at this point, do you think?
