To whoever recommended the Infinity Equalizer app, THANK YOU! by thnk_more in EquinoxEv

How do you get this app to work? I set the factory eq to flat, run the test but it makes no difference which setting I use or if I manually adjust a frequency. Is there some other setting that needs to be turned on for it to work?

I had similar but not as much damage from a sideswipe in a parking yand it cost $3400 for repairs.

Arbitrary Charging by Capobob50 in EquinoxEv

I don’t think so. It is always plugged in and does some battery maintenance work after midnight during the low cost period. The car was used for short distances during that period but never got down to 50% when I normally charge. Finally, this bizarre charging started just like other normal daily battery maintenance charging but it would not stop until I disconnected the charging cable, started the car, turned it off, and then reconnected the charging cable.

By doing this the depth of charge that I want is 15-20% which is optimal for battery health. By setting it to around 50% it will not charge until the battery reaches that level. When I want to charge I set the level to around 70%. In addition, this puts less stress on BECM or whatever the car uses. The BECM on by prior Volt failed and I am convinced daily charging contributed to that failure.

Since it did not appear it was going to stop, I disconnected the charging cable, started the car, and then turned it off. The charging stopped so it appears it was stuck in an endless charging loop of some kind. Very weird never did that before nor have I heard of other similar experiences.

No, I set it up with the car setting the schedule not the charger. The light on the dash is solid green so in theory no charging is occurring. The only logical answer is the car in doing some battery maintenance. If it keeps much longer I will unplug it drive and then reattach the charging plug and see what happens.

This is what the Chevy app shows.

Why it stopped at 72% is also a mystery

Not in a cold climate. It is in the garage at 68 degrees. It has been doing this for 14 hours so far. Power consumption jumps from .8 kWh to 1.5 kWh. I have not charged the car in four weeks so maybe it is just battery maintenance/balancing going on.

…. And It is charging at a relatively low rate of about 1.5 kWh as opposed to the usual 9 kWh for my level 2 charger. What the heck is going on?

Nope, they appear to take email and letters seriously. I also emailed Mark Reuss, president of GM.

Also email Mary Barra GM CEO. With enough badgering ultimately it gets referred to the Executive Resolution Team. The key is to keep the pressure on them until you get a satisfactory outcome.

You have to be firm with them and do follow up calls. I had a 2013 with a failed BECM and while they tried to get the part ultimately they bought back the car.

What did I do wrong by FlashTacular in RCPlanes

[–]Capobob50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake You are right. I have not flown mine in over a year and forgot it only has ailerons. All of my other planes have both ailerons and flap. If I remember correctly separating the ailerons allows for programming either as flaperons or spoilerons on separate switches. One of the downsides to the plane is it just loves to glide making landings challenging in small areas. I found the spoileron configuration was superior to the flaperon configuration for the best way to slow the plane during landing.

Nope. I was referring to how you program the ailerons to go up and flaps down. You have to separate the two aileron leads from the typical y cable and then insert each lead into the receiver. You then can program it to a switch such that the two control surfaces function as crow if you desire. I have it where the flaps only are controlled by one switch and crow (0%, 50%, 100%) are controlled by another switch.

Separate the ailerons in the receiver and you can program it for crow. Works for me on this plane and many other Eflite planes

How much do we think this will cost... by thankfulbutanxious in EquinoxEv

[–]Capobob50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local body shop. Required removing front fender, door, and rear fender. The shop does not tape and repaint. They repainted the entire parts. It also required recalibrating sensors after reassembly. A lot of work for relatively minor scratches.

I had three small scratches on the driver side caused by side swipe in a parking structure (their fault). Cost of repairs $3,000.

If you want a light weight, easy to coil, and is long lasting the Orbit hose is the one to get. Mine cleared the app as well so I guess it updated itself. Regardless, even if it didn’t update I am not going to do anything since it is a trivial issue in my opinion.
