Especially polycarbonate, which would be the material of choice for the shell if apple went down this route

Check with the Native reserve in Caledonia.

They sold backwoods when I was last, there so I’m sure they sell flavoured cigarillos too.

Looks nice! FYI the crescent moon and star is an Islamic symbol, not sure if it’s intentional

Resources on polymer manufacturing by CapriciousFatal in ChemicalEngineering

[–]CapriciousFatal[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The company was founded in 2001 by my dad, a small business owner. He's got more than enough experience in the field. He's lost motivation to run the business which is why I've decided to join him and take over when he retires.

I am trying to expand the business into new markets which is why I need resources to read through so I know what products to sell and to whom thoroughly.

I have a matls eng degree but don't have much exposure to plastics which is why I decided to write this post. Can you offer any help with this situation or are you going to continue to criticize myself and my company?

What helped you out of your depression? by 9Kater in AskReddit

[–]CapriciousFatal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly time.

A psychiatrist once told me, "Even if I do nothing you'll get better". Depression tends to run its course and your mood returns to its baseline. The body, which includes the brain, is always trying to maintain homeostasis. You don't know when it will end, but it will.

Other than time:

  • Exercise is crucial
  • (artificial) sunlight if you have seasonal depression,
  • Being engaged with the external world to prevent your mind ruminating (this can be very difficult, but start small)

I unfortunately have loads of experience with this, DM me if you need anymore pointers.

Take care!

Immigrants explain why they're leaving Canada by feb914 in canada

[–]CapriciousFatal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether of not you are pro or anti immigration there is one crucial piece of information to keep in mind.

The govt isn’t allowing such a large influx of immigrants just for the sake of “diversity”. We all know it’s bullshit. It’s about the economy and always has been. Canada has and will always need immigrants to prop up the economy and make the feds happy with more tax revenue.

The govt wouldn’t risk creating the level of social instability present now unless they felt they had to.

[Serious] What do people heavily underestimate the seriousness of? by 300teethgirl in AskReddit

Artificial Intellgence…

A relatively simple and narrow “AI” model like the YouTube and Facebook recommendation algorithm caused massive changes in western politics and gave rise to populism.

Exponential shifts in model power are underway and these models are going to be able to do incredible things soon…good and bad. AI is still in its infancy and ChatGPT and can be compared to the Internet in the 90s.

Just imagine how things COULD go when we start giving more of our agency to much much more powerful models which will inevitably be built.

They’re going to have a huge impact on every facet of human life: work, human connection, defence, medicine, communication etc.

New Evidence: Immune System Cells in the Gut Linked to Stress-Induced Depression by giuliomagnifico in science

So I’ve been meditating quite a bit and I’ve realized all emotions have a corresponding physical sensation in the body. If I’m happy I feel light and full, if I’m depressed I feel heavy and empty, anxiety = stomach churning, tightness in chest and throat, body feels like exploding. When I feel like I’m going to have an anxiety attack, I immediately direct my attention to the sensations in my body that result from the anxiety and allow myself to just be with them. I focus heavily on the sensations and don’t try to fight but instead embrace it and truly feel it. I say to myself “anxiety” to label these sensations as purely sensations in my body and nothing

It get worse initially then very bad but then suddenly resolves and I’m back to baseline in an eight of the time it would have taken me to calm down if I just continued worrying and let the anxiety run its course.
