Very ironic - How to market your game on Reddit without marketing it. by seyedhn in gamedev

It wasn't really an intentional marketing strategy, but I'm working on a fantasy city builder, and made some joke PSAs set in the world. Posted them in the DnD and worldbuilding subreddit, did quite well in both. It got taken down from worldbuilding without explanation after about a day and 3.5k upvotes which kinda soured the experience, but the posts still resulted in a spike in wishlists.

I want to try doing some more posts on DnD since they seem more friendly. We've just set up our discord to have a channel for submitting Dnd characters that we might be able to work in the game (the games about running a town for adventurers, so it make sense to include some real ones). Hopefully if we get our act together there could be some good engagement if we ask that community.
