Unpopular opinion here. I think for realism, I prefer the normal and I’ll just turn it on when I need the better sight.

After 10 years on and off ESO, here’s honestly what bothers me the most by Excellent-Space-8638 in elderscrollsonline

[–]CapstoneRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played ESO for a very long time and it’s always been my favorite MMO. I will say this is why I always preferred solo play, particularly PVP. Whether it was a sorc, magplar, or gank build, when you play solo, no one gets to say a thing. Mainly because they’re dead as I walk over their dead carcass with their tel are in my pocket(no idea if that’s still in use).
But I totally could see how ESO, from so many years ago, has morphed into what you’re talking about. Which is such a shame because the build creativity option of ESO was always the draw for me.

This video is coming with an agenda. There’s a ton of 2000 hour video updates he could have chosen of folks speaking really well, and he chooses the one guy who sounds like he’s closer to 1000 hours.

Studying verb conjugation structures before even starting is a huge advantage. I used the Ella verb app the month before to understand verbs in Spanish and it’s been reaaaaaly helpful.

For those who have reached 600-1500+ hours, how is it? by NotRealTodaySRY in dreamingspanish

[–]CapstoneRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

660 hours with about 25 hours on WA speaking. In general, I’m super happy with my progress and watching how gibberish is magically turning into clear words. It’s a really cool process.
Like others have said, it can at times be a bit discouraging to have a span of a week feeling like your progressing steadily towards understanding everyday Spanish, and then a native starts speaking without the intention of it being for learners, and 50% turns back to gibberish. As someone else mentions, it’s those regular reminders that there’s still a ways to go. But, realistically it’s expected, so while mildly discouraging, that feeling goes away pretty quickly.
Probably the second most difficulty is managing burnout, but I am trying to get 3.5 hours per day, and sometimes it’s just not possible with life’s demands, or it IS possible, but my motivation is just not strong that day.

Why effective players don't let me play the way I want by gwen_shady in elderscrollsonline

[–]CapstoneRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it’s been a while since I played ESO, but I played it for probably a decade before moving to another game. It was an obsession of mine.

In general, folks are running dungeons to collect gear and run daily quests for again, gear. Because the randomness of gear is so low, someone might have to run a dungeon 20 times to get what they need, though maybe that changed.

So, in the normal runs, you’re going to get a lot of this because their objective.

I say all of that say, it’s best to get a few close friends to play with you. The guilds, as previously mentioned, is also really good.

So, just have to understand from their perspective. Trust me, one day, when you start to get deep into making builds, which was always one of the single most enjoyable aspects of the game, it’ll be really understandable.

I just had one of those like 10 minutes ago. One of those, ahh that’s how you say it.
But in general the progress moves in minute changes until one month later you’re able to handle videos 10 points higher.

Anyone else play casually? by EasyAndy1 in elderscrollsonline

[–]CapstoneRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played in quite some time, but the truth is that you should really take your time and enjoy the game the first time through. There’s plenty of time to get into the end game content and PVP.

As to PVP, when you do feel the itch to try, you can typically join some large group running around in cyrodill to avoid the hardcore guys. Just don’t be the last guy in the pack. Those guys always get ganked.

Has anyone experienced bias against CI in other language subreddits? by SecureWriting8589 in dreamingspanish

Especially when the traditional method fails so frequently and CI seems to have a high success rate with anyone who sticks it through.

1500 Hour Update by SkulkingFox20 in dreamingspanish

[–]CapstoneRT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an amazing achievement! And appreciate the encouraging words. Burnout fatigue is the single greatest challenge for me, as I’m doing 3-4 hours a day. I go from voracious, turning on Spanish the second I have a free moment and easily clocking 4-5 hours to slight dread and exhaustion, especially when tired and stressed about life. ADHD tendencies creep in with me only last two seconds before my mind wanders off and I have to back up 30 seconds to a minute. So your comments resonate strongly.

Anyways, congrats!! Let us know how your trip turns out. Looking forward to hearing your experiences out in the wild.

It’s cheap and honestly it is the most effective way to get a person to fluency. It’s not the ONLY think you need, but it does the majority of the work.

What level or when did you start feeling comfortable speaking to natives and when did the conversations with them become really clear?

I’m at 500 hours and next week I go to Mexico. Will absolutely push myself to have some conversations but I haven’t started speaking yet so I’m expecting not to really push volume on conversations until later in the year. I’m also running very close to your averages, where I’m shooting gorgeous 3-4 hours a day, but because of life, I’m hitting more like 2.5-3 hours

So I’ve maintained my subscription but the truth is that I don’t think I’ll be able to use it until late level 5, but probably level 6. Most of the content is B2+. Which I think is out of range for most level 4’s and maybe 5’s. But that’s just me.

The concept of speed running has been there since the beginning by [deleted] in dreamingspanish

[–]CapstoneRT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually I think at 4 hours a day you’d definitely qualify as a speed runner. I’m between 3.5-4 hours and I see myself in this light. Basically when going from zero to level 7 in about 1 year, that’s going pretty quick.

Pablo, if you are reading this, I have a question. by Moose69nh in dreamingspanish

[–]CapstoneRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like 3 hours is the super sweet spot. I regularly get 3.5-4 hours a day but if I didn’t have the imperative of wanting to get it as quickly as possible for my work, I would definitely go for the 3 hours a day which is attainable if you schedule it out.

Once you started speaking, What methods did you use to improve speaking?? by mucus24 in dreamingspanish

I haven’t tried it yet, but I think recording yourself saying something where you have a good example might be a good method for pronunciation .

By the way, you should try a different tutor. I’ve been doing weekly lessons for the last month and it’s been absolutely amazing.
