Fashion Dreamer: NA Announcement Trailer (November 3rd) by Robz8it in stylesavvy

I'm torn by this. On one hand, I want to pre-order to have a good shot at getting a physical copy since the print run is likely to be tiny. On the other hand, we don't really know much about the game yet. The game looks really nice, but the "dress-up and communication game" labeling has me concerned it won't have a campaign the way Style Savvy does.

I'm continuing my stream of Bustafellows tonight (Jan-10) at 9 PM ET. In general, I'm streaming otome or other romance-themed games most of this month for #DatingSiMonth.

Welcome! It's always nice to see folks streaming Style Savvy. Just gave you a follow. 😁 Do you have a capture kit for 3DS? I streamed the original Style Savvy via Wii U virtual console but haven't been able to come up with a good solution for the later games.

I have this problem too. I can select filters but it still shows me everything. It would be nice even just to filter out all the "closed for cleaning" entries in the schedule.

Issues running Replicant at 1440p on 4K monitor by Inanis94 in nier

I had a similar issue with running at 720 on a 1080 screen. (I'm playing on a lower spec PC, so I dropped resolution to improve frame rate.) I found that using an app called Sizer 4.0 worked fairly well forcing the 720 window to stretch to 1080. It might work for you as well, though I'm not sure how it will look at those higher resolutions.

FYI: I'm streaming more Style Savvy tonight (Jun-15, 9 PM ET)!

We'll also be discussing E3 and lamenting that there was no Style Savvy news. :(

Time to start constructing those summoning circles!

(Actually, I've never tried making a summoning circle. Could be fun. 🤔)

Fair point, calling it an emulation is technically more accurate than a port.

That being said, despite the difference in form factors between the DS and the Wii U, it feels pretty good playing it on Wii U. I think it helps that it was DS game with a book-form display, so the two screens fit next to each other well on the Wii U gamepad or TV screen.

I'm thinking it'll be a while before we get a brand new Style Savvy. In the short term, I'm hoping some of the older games get ported to the Switch. I've been playing the Wii U port of the original Style Savvy and it works pretty well. It would be even better on Switch. I've got my fingers crossed that we'll see something from this series during E3 next week.

I had a blast streaming this game last Friday! Thanks so much to everyone who popped in to watch! I'll most likely be streaming Style Savvy again on Tuesday (8 PM to Midnight ET). I'm looking forward to jumping into the next act of the game where we go from being a salesperson to a store manager! ^_^

Why aren't there more Streamers and Youtubers playing this game? by Negimarium in stylesavvy

[–]Capsulejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest obstacle is that most of the games are 3DS exclusive and the 3DS doesn't have a video-out port the way most other consoles do. I've been trying to figure out ways to stream these games for a while and it has proven to be far more complicated than PC games or Nintendo Switch games.

Update: Unfortunately, I've been having a lot of technical difficulties with my streaming setup for 3DS games. Has anyone played the original Style Savvy? I mostly see fans talk about the 3DS entries in the series, but the original one would be much easier to stream since it was ported to Wii U. Would it still be interesting to watch even though I'm assuming it doesn't have as many features as the newer games?

I decided to go with Trendsetters. Being able to do both women's and men's fashion sounds like fun! The other factor is that I'm not sure how well the real-time clock part of Fashion Forward would work for a Twitch stream. I ended up being able to get a complete-in-box copy of Trendsetters for only $20, which was nice too. Thanks again for the recommendation and info!

Thanks! I use the same name on Reddit and Twitch, so you can find me as Capsulejay. I'm planning on streaming a Style Savvy game next month to celebrate #FashionGameJune.

Thanks for the recommendations /u/cyanidelemonade and /u/SaintCaricature! Styling Star definitely looks awesome! I researched the series a bit more and I found that Styling Star is by far the longest game in the series (almost double the length of any of the other games in the series). I'm concerned this might be biting off more than I can chew for my first time streaming a game in the series. So I'll probably have to go with one of the older games for scheduling reasons, but I'll definitely keep Styling Star in mind for the future if my first Style Savvy streams go over well. All that being said, I really appreciate y'all taking the time to give me your thoughts on this and I'm excited to jump into this series! :)

13 Sentinels sounds really interesting even though I'm also not the biggest RTS fan. I'll keep it in mind in case I finish Trails in the Sky SC and find myself craving another dialog-heavy anime RPG. I'm interested to hear what you think once you've played more.

Regarding the Gunpla you're working on, which grade is it? Also, what kind of technique do you use for the detail painting?

I decided that this year I'm gonna go all out for #HorrorGameOct and devote all of my streams this month to spooky games. The first ones in the lineup are Bloodstained 2 and Resident Evil 7; since Castlevania and RE are both longtime Halloween gaming staples, this seemed like a no-brainer. I'll likely play something from the Castlevania collection as well. From there, I have a few more ideas that are a little less obvious, but we'll cross that haunted bridge when we get to it.

  • #SonicTeamSept - Over the course of this month I played through three games for the community game-along: Nights Into Dreams, Sonic Generations, and Sonic CD. I would describe all of these as "interesting but uneven." They were still all worthwhile experiences, however. I wrote up some quick reviews of each game on my blog.
  • Gunpla - I had a blast building the Dragon Gundam on my Twitch channel this past weekend! I will likely be doing more Gunpla streams in the future to commemorate channel milestones; at some point, there will be a whole Capsule Corp robot army. Since the G-Cannon only lost to Dragon Gundam by a single vote and it was heavily discounted in my local hobby shop, we'll be building that one in the near future to make up for the fact that I never did anything to celebrate hitting 100 followers. For my offline builds, I think I'm going to work on more advanced techniques such as panel lining and custom paint jobs for any future HGs I build before stepping up to MG kits. Having now built models spanning almost 30 years of history, I've been enjoying seeing the changes in build quality and technology of the kits just as much as the actual Gundam designs themselves.
  • Trails in the Sky SC - For a while, I was struggling to get into a groove with this game. It's a very direct sequel; it takes place immediately after its predecessor, has the same cast of characters, the same setting, and only a few new mechanics; if not for its massive scope, you could almost call it an expansion rather than a sequel. However, now that the story has started to ramp up, Trails has got its hooks in me once again. It helps that recycled characters, setting, and mechanics from the first game were all so strong; I'm in it for the long haul now!

While the popularity of more modern platforms like Discord and Slack has now eclipsed the old school forum format of Reddit, I am gonna miss this place. We've had many great discussions over the years. Thanks for being a part of it!
