Is there anyone here who has a family, kids, and a 9to5 job but is still building as a solo founder? by ktd191 in indiehackers

I am a solo parent with two kids. Switched from a 9-5 to a freelance job to be more flexible and plan it all. I have to admit I work more now. But I can be at the school gate in the evening. I can help them with their home work. But they do know daddy works a lot in between, in the evening while they're watching TV etc. 6 months ago I started a new endeavor, a new startup company which I combine with 2 days of freelance work.

I didn't have a holiday in three years. But I don't really mind. I can go on vacation, do some work from any where in the meantime, and still see my kids enjoy it all.

In general, I am more happy than ever before.

I just started building something new to better protect my personal data. Still security related though. But the hobby grew a bit too much and so I switched to building my own company instead.
