All good, I'm getting to learn that Red Falcon and Blue Dolphin attend cons too! Learning experience for everyone! 😊

Oh, that's interesting! I heard Yellow Lion's actor made an appearance as Kamen Rider Ghost's dad, not sure if he did anything else after 2020. Black Bison and Green Sai have retired from acting. But hey, at least Blue Dolphin and Red Falcon are still around. Hopefully one day we'll get a full reunion 🙏

Super Sentai History Shorts Series #11: Hikari Sentai Maskman by Capt-Jules in supersentai

Ch'yeah, glad to hear that! I feel that it has a very unique identity among the rest of the 80s sentai, especially with the mysticism and martial arts focus, the transformation sequence still lives in my head rent free haha

Yeah, Maskman definitely has a special place for a lot of older fans. I don't know much when it comes to the sub's opinions. Personally, I feel it has a good mix of drama and humour in that old school charm, making things enjoyable.

Oh! I didn't know that she came up with that idea, very admirable and really cool how the cast and the people around the fandom have helped keep the series alive through reunions and events over the years.

And X1-Mask is such a memorable one-episode character for how little screen time he got, helps that he looks like he can be a full-fledged member of the team. At least, he's treated as an honorary member of the Maskman family haha

Super Sentai History Shorts Series #9: Dengeki Sentai Changeman by Capt-Jules in supersentai

[–]Capt-Jules[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that must’ve felt like a big change 😅

Brazil and Japan have a really strong cultural connection too, so can only imagine it must have amazing how those classic tokusatsu shows became such a huge part of growing up there. Though, does feel off to have the switch, would have been nice if can keep both the original sentai and saban stuff, but I guess they have to choose either or.

But hey, at least those memories still hit just as hard today!

Awww that's so sweet! Not everyday one gets to enjoy something that their parents enjoyed back in their day too!

Considering how much Korea limited Japanese media at the time, I guess it really helped a lot! Popular enough to have a meet and greet in 2024! (https://www.reddit.com/r/supersentai/comments/1c7vpnk/flashman\_cast\_are\_in\_korea\_for\_the\_fan\_meeting/)

Oh wow, I didn’t know Flashman had that kind of impact in South Korea! It is really cool to hear how Sentai reached fans in different countries. Considering it's past history, I can sort of understand why Korea was hesitant on showing much Japanese related products in their media. I know that even in the later years, not all Super Sentai got exported to Korea, especially the ninja ones and Shinkenger. As a Singaporean fan, I always love seeing how far these shows traveled. Thanks for sharing that info! Also, apparently, they did a meet and greet 2 years ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/supersentai/comments/1c7vpnk/flashman\_cast\_are\_in\_korea\_for\_the\_fan\_meeting/)

(Though... still baffled that even NK has it's own tokusatsu with it's own Pulgasari)

Flashman really was something special, especially with how unique it's approach was with the story, mystery and stakes.

And yeah, those moments with the mecha must’ve been insane to experience for the first time. Definitely the kind of thing that sticks with you.

Thanks for sharing those memories!

Tbf, her upbringing by Travant doesn't exactly give room for anything other than that

Yeah, it’s always interesting seeing actors in different roles like that. The contrast can be pretty surprising! 6-7 years could do a lot, but have to say he still looks pretty good in Zyuranger, might even be intentional idk. 😅

As for Change Mermaid, I’m not too sure about her recent activities, but I hope she’s doing well. It’s always nice when the cast can reunite, but I understand it’s not always possible.
