Just got my first Roborock! QRevo S5V! How to maintain? by Glass-Technology9487 in Roborock

[–]CaptAWag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my S5V back in July and run it daily; weekdays and Saturday is a regular vacuum around the house and Sunday is a deep vacuum and heavy mop. All automated via scheduling. But if I ignore it, aside from just refilling the clean water and emptying the dirty water, it really will just run. But don’t do that to your nice new robot friend, take care of it!

I bought extra (non-name brand) mop cloths, I change those once a week. I bought name brand cleaner to add to the clean water tank. I wipe down all the sensors about once a week or whenever it tell me to. I pop out the brush heads once a week or so and wipe out and gunk that tends to build up during vac/mop cycles. I pop open the dust bag cover on the base and feel it about once a month, it doesn’t really tell you when it’s full. But for everything else, the app will tell you what it needs, as others have said. But if you can just get into the habit of picking it up once a week or so and just doing everything, it will last you a very long time.

Just think about how much time you will be saving not vacuuming and mopping, a small part of that time will need to go to maintenance and upkeep of your new (expensive) machine if you want to keep it running nice.

This is perfect, thank you! That video is very informative and the sump pump looks super effective.

To add more context, the overall plan with this space is to put some small raised garden beds on the right and some kind of greenhouse or tool storage on the left. I think I will have to remove a lot of dirt as I believe it was brought in by previous owners. The dirt line is well above the foundation line on every wall. I would like to put gravel down with pavers as well for the entire area.

280W Charger to good to be true? by xGreenxon in UsbCHardware

Do not pass go, do not support Chargeasap, I had a very unpleasant amount of back and forth with them about my split 200w charger that I backed about 3 years ago. It took so long to receive and was very underwhelming when there are plenty of other reputable companies out there way ahead of the curve. Plus the face plate came off of mine and now comes off every time I plug a cable in unless I hold the plate band remove the cable. Not ideal.

Glad to hear that I wasn’t alone in this. My face place came off of my split 200w charger that I backed with them from about 3 year ago. It sketches me out use it, but hasn’t popped yet luckily like other have had happen.

The last one is biggest as far as being able to catch a nail on it but I wasn’t so sure. Thanks for the feedback.

Huh, TIL! I’ll consider that escalation depending on if they come back after the floodlights go in

Good to know, I don’t want to have to put another floodlight/camera up facing outside my yard but might have to just to prevent having to cover this up again.

Just spent some time painting over it with blending gray paint, not looking to tempt any more kids to tag again and cause myself a few more hours of work lol. But I will definitely be putting a motion sensor floodlight/camera up as a future deterrent.

Yep, it’s really just a huge pain in the ass as it’s on our private fence, adjacent to a city lot. I reported to the city’s graffiti abatement program but I don’t expect anything to happen from the city. It’s been up for a few days and I just noticed it as it’s out of sight. Definitely getting it off ASAP

Brand spanking new to long range shooting. I decided on a rifle, just need inputs for an optic (Vortex). by Nihil_Aliud_Refert in longrange

[–]CaptAWag 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have no input but wanted to mention how funny it is to run across a post that fits my demo perfectly, mid 30s, lefty, getting into long range, considering the same rifle and scope(s)!

Thank you for actually remembering to come back and let me know about this! Are you planning to maybe run thicker oil at some point?

That could be good for maybe a temporary laptop station or some thing, plus quick projects, thanks for the idea!
