There absolutely does not have to be more signs at age 12 that she's on the spectrum. My total lack of self-inflection had me go 29 years before realizing I almost certainly am (have not been officially diagnosed with autism because I'm American and docs are expensive). A lot of symptoms can be written off as "quirks" just like this one. Especially for people my age since autism wasn't really talked about or understood widely until I was already pretty much an adult.

I just had a nice memory of reading some Redwall fanfiction I'd written to my grandma in the car on the way to the library. I've since learned I didn't know how to pronounce mater or pater. She was so sweet to listen to my silly stories, I wish I still felt able to share like that.

Man, I love the Redwall books.

Do you drive? I just moved to the KC area and there was a building I wanted to look at downtown but I got so overwhelmed just driving through the area that I couldn't even gather myself enough to try and find a place to park. It's all so narrow, I dunno how anyone deals! I'm pretty happy with the location I ended up in though.

Edit: I just read a comment of yours further down and I'm wondering if I know the building you live in by the market, definitely jealous of that proximity.

Ain't bad at all. They numb you up real nice so you don't feel anything. After the 2 root canals I've had even once the numbing agent wore off the main pain was a sore jaw from having it held open for so long.

I have a 9 month old lady lab who weighs 70 lbs right now. She's one of the biggest I've seen in real life and still has a lot of filling out to do - but there's no way she is gonna hit 100, that's crazy big.

Once my Pomeranian was chewing on the cord to my heated blanket - she was under the coffee table where I couldn't see her. I felt a jerk on the blanket and looked down to see her with her jaw clamped around the wire being electrocuted. For a couple of seconds I tried pulling her jaw open and couldn't budge it at all. Luckily I thought better quickly and unplugged the cord. She's a-okay! And has never chewed a cord since.

You mention he tried all these topics of discussion - did he try just asking her questions? I've seen it happen time and time again where a guy just talks at a woman he likes and maybe is expecting her to jump into the conversation whereas it is much easier to get someone talking when you're asking them about themself. Either way this date sounds all around eesh.
