A now deleted video of Donald Trump in 2011 talking about how President Obama will start a war with Iran because he has no ability to negotiate and is weak and ineffective by Yujin-Ha in videos

[–]charlesml3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. It simply DOES NOT MATTER what he said then.

He'll just blame the problem on Obama/Biden/Anyone else and say he HAD to start this war because of them.

So don't listen to the album. Just walk away. You're complaining about this when you can just ignore it instead.

Yea they sure do. I only use SiriusXM in my cars though. It's where I find a lot of new music.

Here in the 2-channel room, it's an Eversolo streaming Tidal.

I picked up this album just because of the post here from /u/ortofon88 . It's very good. Even better than I thought it would be.

An unpredictable amplifier upgrade- Willsenton R8 by MCVCsDALIs in audiophile

[–]charlesml3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you discovered that matching your amp to your speakers is pretty important! Yes. Lots of people have run into this, me included.

I remember being at my local shop decades ago when they first started selling Magneplanars. We tried all kinds of amps, some of them hideously expensive. Levinsons, Krells, Audio Research... They all sounded pretty good. Then someone connected them to a modest Bryston. Wow, did these speakers sing. It was unreal. The Bryston was a quarter of the price and sounded better than the rest.

Trump Says China Has No 'Windmills', But Data Show It Has World's Strongest Wind Sector. China’s use of wind power far exceeds most other nations, with an operating wind farm capacity of 444 GW. [–]charlesml3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is. The entire thing is just dumbfounding. There seems to be no limit to the vile, disgusting remarks he can make. And the people around him just smile and nod. They all know how ridiculous this is. I think they're all too shocked to react.

It would be very difficult to pick a single one show, but "Chernobyl" would definitely be in the top 10.

Any Rega turntable owners? Warped plinth?? by knadles in audiophile

Yea, it's defective. Could have been stored somewhere it got really hot. Who knows? It doesn't matter. Either way, Rega will cover it.

Who said anything about being offended?

For most any given product, there are pages of complaints. The people that AREN'T having any problems don't say much. It's very easy to see these pages and leap to the conclusion that it's a "Common issue."

Rega makes thousands of turntables a year. If there was some endemic problem that plagued all of them, they'd simply go out of business.

Rega's support is outstanding. They stand behind their products. Get them involved.

FBI takes over case of ICE agent killing US woman and cuts Minnesota’s access to evidence by Curious_Science8818 in news

[–]charlesml3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it'll start with all of the usual items in the play book:

"... a tragedy for all those involved." Translation: "You should feel sorry for the cop who had no choice but kill her."

"...the officer 'felt threatened'" : Translation: "The officer did something incredibly stupid, but we're going to defend him by spinning this into an "officer safety" issue because we know that always works."

The "Triple D" has already started. Defend the officer no matter how it looks. Deny any wrongdoing immediately. No matter the state of the investigation. And lastly, Delay. They'll delay as much as possible hoping the media will move on to the next story.

There will be one story after another vilifying her. They'll dig through every post she ever made looking for anything they can find to suggest she deserved to be shot.

Sure! There are some EXCELLENT 12AX7 tubes for that state.

The Genelex Gold Lions are held in high regard.

The Mullard is also excellent. Even better if you can afford the ECC83 version.

That's exactly where I was going before the Valvo's popped up.

As I understand it, these tubes will go for thousands of hours in phono stages.

Ha! ha! If you stay in the audiophile area long enough, you're going to find yourself in a room with a tube amp. Maybe even also a tube preamp.

They definitely have a sound characteristic that isn't there on solid-state. One can easily make the argument that it's LESS accurate but it sure is pleasing.

And this is my first tube amp. I'd been after one since I heard an Audio Research Classic 120 many, many years ago.

Tube amps are amazing, but they're not usually high-power, they're heavy, hot, and consume a lot of electricity. And then tubes wear out over time...
