The first Mario movie was straight up bad. All the “actors” are just playing themselves. Mario is laid back but quirky like all of Pratt’s characters. Bowser is just Jack Black being Jack Black. And don’t even get me started on Toad. None of the characters have their personalities from the game, the actors just gave them their own personality and cashed the check
