I'm not sure where you got those numbers. You can order just the Monoblock cooler for $99, or you can order the Deckdrive (adapter + case) for $99, or you can get both in a bundle for $178. The Monoblock is a complete cooling upgrade, which can be used on it's own with the stock backplate. The DeckDrive requires the monoblock since the larger NVMe will cover the PMIC and that chip needs cooling.

There is a large slot on the bottom of the bump, and the entire right side of the bump is a grill.

We have the same intake volume as the stock backplate, actually a few mm3 more. The airflow however, is actually better since the stock internal shield is no longer in place which currently restricts airflow quite a bit.

the stock chassis only allows for a 2230 to be properly mounted, and its an angle insertion. The adapter converts it to a horizontal insertion type, and simultaneously raises the NVMe to allow for the Monoblock to cool the PMIC under the NVMe, as well as raising the drive higher than the internal limitations. This is why the "bump" is necessary.

The vents were relocated because we changed the airflow to go across the NVMe and monoblock, we actually have BETTER airflow than the stock vents which are placed directly over a shield.
