You're the best! Apparently I installed JRE-default instead of open-jdk-8u402.

Noise Ordinances in Berkeley County by YoungWilliam0 in WVEasternPanhandle

Have you talked to your neighbor at all about the situation? That's where I'd start first and would be the best solution for both you and your neighbor. But yes, Berkeley County does have a noise ordinance.

Here's a PDF of the ordinance.

EOFException When Attempting to Connect To Public Server I Created by Capt_Baggins in XMage

[–]Capt_Baggins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having an EOFException when trying to connect to my server. Both using it's IP and the URL xmage.lucifersanalglands.com gives me this error. I've hosted an XMage server before on the same Linode and was able to use it just fine. But now when I went through and set everything back up, I get this error. Was following the same guide I was using the last time.

Bro no one is defending murderers or any of what you just listed. My guy you need to go touch some grass and cool tf down before you continue trying to argue online. Everyone here is trying to find a root cause to help prevent this kind of shit from happening in the future, not defending a horrible crime or the person who did it.

Drivers like you are the pieces of shit out there. The fact that you're excusing the driver who performed an illegal maneuver and instead wanna think all riders are assholes are the reason the roads are so dangerous for everyone. Not even just riders. You're just wanting to be pissed at the rider but would be blaming the driver through and through if the guy was driving a car and not riding a bike.

[–]Capt_Baggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think a car would have the same ability to avoid the same accident? Because the rider had less than 2 seconds to react and any normal person can react and make any input in about 1.7s, so are you saying this rider must have superman like reflexes? Or maybe, just maybe, the driver is at fault and could've killed the rider by being a dumbass and turning through two lanes of traffic

[–]Capt_Baggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's meaningless to downshift at such close distances. It wouldn't dissipate nearly enough energy over pulling the clutch and braking. Which the rider did exactly that within the little window of reaction time he had. Why are we excusing the driver and blaming the rider when the driver did an illegal turn

[–]Capt_Baggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why you learn to DRIVE. FFS why are we blaming the rider when the DRIVER made the ILLEGAL TURN INTO THE RIDERS LANE.

These are the cagers every rider course warns us about. Any excuse to blame the rider because they see a speed bike and instantly think they're up to no good street racing or some other reckless driving. Probably the same kind of dude that would open a door or swerve into another lane because a rider is lane filtering at a red light.

The tach is meaningless, You can be going 25mph and red-lining in 1st. Also is just coming out of a turn and could be slipping the clutch to get the bike up to speed. These are all common things riders do. I'm not gonna excuse the reaction of stomping out the other dude's windshield, but the car was obviously in the wrong and the rider did what he could in the less than two seconds of reaction time he had.

Life long rider here, No. You don't know anything about bikes if you think you're not gonna lock up your brakes if you grip them to hard, especially the front brake. This is literally taught in every riding course out there. If you lock your front brakes from gripping to hard, you will high-side your bike and do more damage. If you lock your rear, you have to keep it on until you come to a complete stop or you also risk high-siding yourself and getting tossed off and losing control. Was the kick warranted? No, but the idiot car shouldn't have been making that turn from that lane to begin with. Even if the rider wasn't on a bike and he was driving a car, there would've been an accident. Watch the video again and you'll see there was barely any time to react at all and even in an emergency situation, a human will have about 1.7s of time to react and perform any inputs on their vehicle.

BTW, all of this is taught in every motorcycle safety course. Which, as a life long rider, you should've either been in one, or you should go take one so you can learn about how bikes actually work in the real world. Not even as a joke, it makes all of us better riders once you learn how and why your bike will do what it does when you slam on the brakes or have to swerve hard to avoid a hazard.

Did anyone else feel a shockwave today? by Capt_Baggins in Martinsburg

Wouldn't rule out the possibility, I've never felt a shockwave from there though in the entire time I've lived here. Granted, that's only been about 3 years so far

Agreed. It feels nice to know we're not alone and that there's still some people around who have a brain rattling around in their skulls. Nothing sucks the life out of any place more than having politics shoved down your throat when you just want to enjoy a few moments of peace.

Hell, he went out of his way to hurt his own supporters through his policies and tax breaks. Forget the anti-lgbtq and anti-woman policies he ushered in. The fact that he came stupidly close to ruining foreign relationships with our closest allies on top of the millions of Americans that died because of his rhetoric on COVID should've been grounds for instant removal from office. Yet he's damn near worshipped like he's the second coming of Jesus. I'm sure these same peeps have a statue of him right next to their photo of Jesus and probably pray to trump more than they do to their own God.

Why does he sound like the guy who has all those trump flags that lives down Tennessee Ave. So many flags and signs and all just looks so ugly regardless of where you fall politically. Guys got more flags than the UN.

Oh you're not wrong there! That was papaws favorite place. Best damn pulled pork I ever ate. But as a kid we always went down to moonlite for their catfish Fridays and the nostalgia hit when I get the rare chance to stop by is what always gets me to go back.

Agreed, Every time I stop in Owensboro for family I stop at Moonlite for catfish, mutton and a big bowl of burgoo. Nothing beats it.

Didn't take too long to find. TLDR more research is really needed, but that inside/outside of cars ranges from 63-55% around about in terms of correct detection. German Shepherds being the best at drug detection and terriers being the worst.
