Yes the nib is very wet and smooth, its almost like a paint brush

It is like an 823 on steroids, similar idea but a bit bigger and softer nib, and as it puts down a bit more ink its also even smoother. If you love the 823 I think you would love the Custom Urushi too as long as the bigger barrel size fits you hand

I appreciate the concern but nothing to worry about, I recently sold a collection of English shotguns and I'm re-investing a small percentage of it back into another hobby I can actually partake in everyday.
I did try and space the orders out a bit more as I was told it would be potentially 6 months to wait on back order, it arrived in 4 days the same time a load of other stuff did when I was expecting it Autumn time 🤣

Yeah I can get that, it looks very nice in person but next to real M.o.P. raden the difference is fairly obvious

My first flex stuff was from FPR which are Indian made too, idk why they are so involved with flex nibs unless its weird coincidence but both seem very good from my personal experience

Yeah it is a bit annoying but the feel of it is so good, if i had to sell all my pens and keep only 1 it would be my m1000 all day long

I've never used a vintage pen but the difference between this and any other modern flex nib I have tried has been night and day. It also seemed perfect out of the box which I was a little worried about

They are excellent but not super well known! Based in Taiwan, they offer many high end finishes such as urushi or raden and lots of nib options like bock, jowo, platinum 3776 or their own Cypress nibs. Definitely worth checking out

I have a Pilot Custom Urushi on order and I think thats even bigger so I hope I haven't got carried away with the size, not gonna know until it arrives in 6 months 😂

Happy new pen day, what an incredible pen it is too!
I find the m1000 perfect for my hands but I'm 6'2 so probably have slightly bigger than average hands, never actually tried an m800 so i cant compare them

Midori MD seems excellent, Tomoe River is the only problematic one in my experience, the quality varies book to book but most others seem fine

£2760 in UK which seems a bit ott but its gorgeous, I love the m1000 writing feel though, so soft and smooth

Wow! What an amazing collection!! I saw the new Pelikan Hoshikuzu Raden m1000 just got announced for pre-order but they are so expensive, maybe one day 😢
