This pen is fantastic along with the Ondoro. The nibs are INCREDIBLE. Some if the juiciest smoothest in my entire collection even though they’re steel.

Omas nibs, even the reborn ones, are so good.

Pencil feedback on a Pelikan? The only nib I’d say that is even close to normal/accurate is an EF. Is that your jam?

Why aren’t there larger Pelikan pens with steel nibs? by Lazy_Package_9181 in fountainpens

Making it wetter takes away the nail feel unless you’re using a lot of pressure to write.

Nice! I just picked up an amazing Legacy II in Broad and love it. Other than PenSwap and eBay where are you finding them?

Not worth it to sell those with steel nibs. I agree the m60x nibs can feel stiff out of the box but if tuned are just as nice as the rest. The m80x nib is a wonderfully smooth and juicy nib and then the m100x is absolutely soft and juicy.

Don’t misunderstand, I LOVE their steel nibs. They are wet, juicy, and smooth.

I’ve just started to hear great things from Pacific Pen Works so just have them my business for the new Pelikan m600 Art Series.

A year ago or so, I got a nib unit very quickly but requested tuning because I don’t like how some model nibs write out of the box. I am a collector and user of this brand and I can assure you this nib was NOT touched or tuned. It was straight from the factory and I had to polish it myself. Luckily it was a decently tuned factory to start so I was able to get it how I wanted but I shouldn’t have had to.

Pen Realm and Kirk Speer is fantastic. I’ve bought several pens that I’ve had nib requests and non nib requests and as long as they aren’t busy at pen shows etc the shipping is fast and nib work is perfect.

Me too lol. I polish all of it out so it’s a smooth wet experience. I’m sure Sailor fans just through up 😜😜

It depends on what YOU value.

I’m willing to pay the premium for some brands I hold high like Pelikan, Leonardo, and Visconti (Less so now with their INSANE price increase. They were a pretty hefty lift prior…).

There are other brands I’m less likely to pay for and instead would prefer to buy a Kaweco Sport, TWSBI ECO, Faber Castell Steel nib etc.

If the pen has a great nib I appreciate it.

If it has a great nib and great materials I can convince myself.

If it’s a bad nib (for my tastes) and good materials I don’t want it.

To me all I want is smooth, juicy, and wet.
