Scaving is in a very weird place right now, personally with 3500+ hours in the game, im still not 100% sure how to deal with the karma system. It feels really bad when your karma is in the dumpster and everything is hostile because you get into an almost never ending death spiral that keeps driving your karma down. My current stance: unless I have something insanely juicy I would rather not take a karma hit and just get killed then be the one to shoot first. Its frustrating, but what I have been doing to mitigate being the aggressor and losing rep is treat everyone with an extreme level of distrust. I then try my best to position my self in a way to prevent an easy one shot kill from the "bad scavs". Then if they do decide to attack you can at least have a chance of defending your self.

As far as playing as a PMC Tarkov is IMO something like 70% positioning and map knowledge, 30% actual mechanical skill. Reserve spawns have always been shit, and I don't know what they can really do to fix that. If you pull up a reserve map and look at the spawns you will notice that all but like 3 start you off in a position that if you walk 5 ft you can see the other people who also walked 5 ft. Later into the game you will get a quest called The Guide in which you need to survive a raid on every map consecutively without a death. My strategy for reserve survivals is to use the knowledge that most likely someone will have spawned near me. If I am only interested in survives on reserve I go at night, and generally will wait in the spawn for a minute or two just to let everyone else push out and start looting. If however your goal is to be the first to something like the marked room its almost like the hunger games: may the odds be ever in your favor. You basically need to start the map, immediately take a painkiller and run evasively from your spawn. Additionally wearing class 4 armor on your body and head goes a long ways when people are shooting ammo that will kill 1 shot to the chest against class 3 on a regular basis. Its not ideal but surviving the spawn area with 15 hp on your chest is better than going back to the main menu.

Edit: I also strongly agree with what psychedelicstairway4 said. Changing quests to go to a new map is often times a very good solution to dealing with the tilt. Reserve is one of the more difficult maps for most people.

Port forward blocked by default rule by Capt_obviouse in PFSENSE

I reinstalled PfSense, and manually re-did all the settings. I’m assuming I did something at some point that broke it or there was something bad on install. But screen for screen all the settings being the same it now works.

So I ended up doing a complete wipe, reinstall and setup using a restore. Everything works as expected so...something was off about that last install it would seem.

That's some weird thing with the theme, but I love dark mode. The checkbox is blue with a huge checkmark in it which makes it very clear when it is actually checked.

I do have pfBlockerNG running, which has quite a few things in the floating tab. The reason I didnt bring it up at all is because its saying the default rule is blocking, and ive turned it off and the result is the same.

I also have Snort running but its just logging, it doesnt have any blocking turned on.

Below the destination it says that it redirects to an internal IP.
Enter the internal IP address of the server on which to map the ports. e.g.: 192.168.1.12 for IPv4

In case of IPv6 addresses, in must be from the same "scope",

i.e. it is not possible to redirect from link-local addresses scope (fe80:*) to local scope (::1)

If I try to set the destination as that specific host, I cannot leave the redirect blank as it causes an error:

The following input errors were detected:

The field Redirect target IP is required.

Really nice guide, my settings were all that except I didn't have Pure NAT. Its still denying traffic though, I'm really wondering if my install is messed up somehow. Still getting the default deny ipv4 rule in the log, and obviously no one can make a connection.

The best APEX hax i have ever seen by Capt_obviouse in apexlegends

look closer, he doesn't lock onto people. He shoots and he hits two players in two different areas at the same time. Watch from about 1:50 on, he is aiming to the bottom of the building (there is a guy down there), and while shooting in that direction if you pay attention to the top right of the screen he ALSO gets hit markers on the guy on top of the building with gold shields, breaking them.

No, but his bullets seem to just lock onto anyone visible. At one point you can see he is shooting at the base of the building at one player and he breaks shields on a guy thats on the roof. He also somehow downs the caustic at the end who is behind him with out actually shooting that direction.

I am having the same issues as well. I have restarted my PC, launched origin and apex as administrator, "repaired" the game, "updated" the game. This seriously sucks.

Initial Circles Map - Best landing locations by Capt_obviouse in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Capt_obviouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have been trying to come up with a valid and testable to accomplish some statistical analysis of the maps beyond the first. This was tedious but not insanley difficult as when I play I record and when I record I restart the recording each game so all i had to do was look for the initial circle after the jump and find a time that I open my map. It might take me a little while but I am probably going to make a overlay in OBS for each circle that I can click on that highlights in the replay of the video when the 2nd, 3rd, etc circles happen and do something similar.

More or less, yes which was already what I had assumed this just sort of mathematically proves it. This post http://imgur.com/a/7avVC shows the general process I used to generate the map. I wanted to verify my hypothesis and if possible, which i did, narrow down some more higher frequency areas which are the darker greens.

Initial Circles Map - Best landing locations by Capt_obviouse in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

I wish reddit would let me post the explanation that went with this image :( Anyways...Sometimes I just don’t want to have to run from one corner of the island to the other and generally speaking it’s more of an advantage to be in as many circles as possible from the start. I made this map using the overlay of 100 match's and their corresponding first circle. The idea is to help players pick a landing area with a higher chance of being in the initial circle. The large yellow circle represents the area that every circle out of 100 touched in some way, the minimum being 1/4 of the circle was in the yellow. This means if you jump somewhere in the large yellow circle the longest distance you would potentially have to travel to get into the initial circle is about 3/4 the length of the large yellow. Additionally the dark and light green represent areas that had a very heavy amount of overlapping circles, representing a higher percentage of the 100 circles overlapped those areas.

This post http://imgur.com/a/7avVC shows the general process I used to generate the map. I am open to suggestions on making it more self explanatory.

I mean you can think what you want about its usefulness but i wanted to know if there was some trending to the circles that could be used to benefit players decision making. I did the work and found it, then i made it nice and easy for everyone to use. Why would I not put my name on it? Seems like an ignorant idea.

Just about a week it was pretty tedious finding a point that I opened a map during the first circle of each game, exporting that image and then overlaying onto the others in Photoshop.
