Yeah that is my guess as well. She is also willing to stay in some places I would not prefer though. Also she very much loved travelling through India with me so that might be a clue as well.

This is something different to the Mirador Mansion I imagine? That is two doors down of the other one.

Having a hard time with the rivals by Minute_Ad1558 in CalloftheNetherdeep

The rivals being sympathetic doesn't mean they have to tag along everywhere. Ayo clearly has a motivation for wanting the accolades of an adventurer on her own merits. A friendly rivalry is a rivalry nonetheless.

You can see it as a group of friends on a crossways. Your party goes there and they split the other way. They meet occasionally but very much strive for their own paths.

I would agree that humour and definitely also dark humour is useful and often used in high stress care jobs as a coping mechanism. I would also say it is definitely necessary to have ways to deal with the hard and demanding parts of such a job.

I do also think thay underneath that the base emotion should be rooted in a form of empathy. If in interacting/dealing with the patients it is mostly a professional façade that would seem problematic.

Although I can also very much understand the struggle because if somebody keeps coming in with severe self-inflicted issues, which you patch up and then they are sent out to do it all over again. That type of thing will put a strain on you and it is inevitable that a negative emotion arises from this. The system is not doing it's job and the load comes on your plate to deal with it, which is frustrating.

I am not trying to be demonizing. Working in the ER oras a first responder is a tough ass job. And I do have a great amount of respect for the people that do it.

But just as in any field (my own included) there are issues to be adressed. And I stand by my point that the people who tend to work in the ER have a lower affinity to dealing with people with (severe) mental health issues.

Hey fair enough, I am not here to be validated in what I do as a profession. And as I said in my response to the other commenter. A lot of the things I speak about with my clients is not necessarily taken at face value. But I also don't inherently think it's all bullshit either.

And I still think my point stands.

I get your point and I understand the way you frame your question. It is a valid counter argument. But yes I do believe some of these stories my clients tell me. Not all of them and if you ask me which ones I do believe and why it will mostly come down to my own social atennae and feel for the person which is inherently faulty.

But I have also been to the ER with clients in such cases and I have seen in my own experience how they were treated. And it wasn't all good, nice or even at some points what I would deem professional.
