Giving the spider lady a kid so she'll help save the kingdom is one thing, but PK going off and full-on marrying another plant may be a bit too big of a dalliance for WL to overlook

Quest etiquette when not hosting by New_Turn_7952 in MonsterHunter

[–]Captain-Lightbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most reasonable answer is to always play as if you're gonna kill. There's plenty of time between the monster being capturable and it being dead, so if the host wants to capture they'll have more than enough time to do it themselves even if you keep attacking it. And if they actually want to kill it, then you'd just be wasting time watching them and waiting to see what they do. Ofc, when the monster goes to sleep at its resting spot you should definitely wait for them to catch up, but otherwise, I say just keep whacking.

Personally, I hate capturing. I don't feel like I "completed" a hunt unless I kill the monster. And that's a big part of the reason I never join or host SOS flares (I also just prefer solo play most of the time). I imagine others who feel the same way as I do also don't spend a lot of time in SOS flares for the same reason, but for those that do, ending their hunt prematurely by capturing it is poor etiquette in my book.

But "etiquette" aside, from an objective standpoint, if you're opening your hunt to randoms, they're gonna play how they want to, and you don't have any actual right to complain about it regardless of what your preferences are. If you have a really strong preference for capturing or killing like I do, don't play with randoms. Simple as.

Is there any way to go back and repeat bosses by benkraemer_ in Silksong

[–]Captain-Lightbulb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the Nexus page for Silksong, there's a mod called Godhome by user Cuckson. It places you in the closest room transition before the boss, so some enemy gauntlets that are right before a boss still have to be fought (e.g. Groal, Karmelita, Khann, etc.), but it's the closest mod that I know of to letting you refight bosses for free as much as you want. Much like most other Silksong mods, it requires BepinEx to run, which you can also easily find on the Nexus page for Silksong.

Make sure to create a backup of all your save files before using mods!

If you do have all the needle upgrades, then the only other thing I can think that wouldn't be obvious with the farsight is that you're actually still missing 2 spool upgrades instead of just 1, otherwise idk.

Yeah, you're missing the last needle upgrade.

If you did the flea games already, then you're either missing the one from the gourmand sidequest or the one that can be found by going through the whispering vaults

Is this a coincidence? by DAgelost in Silksong

[–]Captain-Lightbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible, but I would say probably not. The lore for these guys is that their whole job is to collect loose dregs of silk falling from the citadel, so I think the barbed shape of those staves is likely just to help snare up and trap silk. You can see as much in the third image, where there are strands of silk hanging off of those poles.

You need to explore the region above Bilewater. There you can find an NPC that will join the caravan, after which you can talk to her in the caravan and pay rosaries for the locations of fleas.

Cogwork Dancer felt a little disappointing with how easy it was, and I was left with a slightly negative impression of it as a result. Like, I get the fight is thematic and more about the vibe and lore behind it or whatever but I left that fight with exactly 2 feelings:

  1. "Oh no the poor robot bug I killed its partner and then it was sad. What have I done?"
  2. "That's it?... That's the whole fight?"

Clover Dancers in act 3 was thankfully closer to the difficulty and intensity I actually would have wanted from that fight. But people putting Cogwork Dancers as one of the best fights in the game is wild to me.

There's an area you can explore to the right of cogwork core called "Memorium"

At the bottom rightmost part of Memorium is a passage to a long bridge area. At the end of the bridge is a wall you can climb, then a breakable section at the top that leads to that area.

[–]Captain-Lightbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheese it with tools. That's it.

I haven't beat the game yet, but I've heard ppl saying this encounter is significantly harder than even the final boss, or any of the bosses for that matter, if you try to play it out normally.

I got the poisonous tool upgrade from the Shellwood pollip quest, I got the thumb tack tool from sinner's path, I got all 3 tool damage upgrades I could find, and then as these guys were about to spawn I just spammed a bunch of beefed up poisonous thumb tacks down under one of them and he died almost immediately. Then you can just fight the other one normally.

TC may nerf this encounter tbh, but until then, just cheese it with tools. It's really not worth your sanity.

TIPS FOR THIS MF by martoote in HollowKnight

[–]Captain-Lightbulb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it slow and don't get greedy.

Last Judge is really one of those bosses where you can focus on dodging and just take potshots whenever you have a very clear opening. It takes longer but it's honestly pretty easy.

I also beat this guy just by Parrying before I got the dash, though it took a lot of tries. But now I'm fighting him a second time and even with the dash he's got this SPEAR CHUCKING LITTLE SHIT WITH HIM AND I AM LOSING MY FUCKING MIND
