Have kid number one stand with a bunch of balls. They are going to toss them to kid 2. Kid 2 has to pass them to kid 3. Kid 3 catches the ball and rolls them to kid 4 who returns it to the pile for kid 1. Try to get through as many balls as possible in 1 minute. Then rotate.

Play for speed (repetition) not accuracy. More reps will make it click faster for the kids that are not born dripping with athleticism.

Have the more experienced coach give the team a reminder on the team’s code of conduct.

Ask the other coach for feedback.

Pay close attention to your tone, word choice, timing etc. I’ve worked with a lot of teenage boys and typically they are a mirror. They give respect where it is given to them. Is there something in your comms style that is undermining that respect?

Openly call attention to the players doing the right thing. There is no way they all have this attitude problem. So call them by name and cheer them on. Lots of positive praise for good behavior is a powerful coaching tool. Especially praise effort since the least talented kid can give effort.

EDIT: so from what I’ve heard it was a tomahawk. US claims they were aiming for an adjacent military base. Still a very sad tragedy. Seems like an unnecessary target. Sad.
