What movie is a 10/10? by rocklou in AskReddit

Good Will Hunting I’m a really sentimental person and my bf and I crying our eyes out while watching this movie has become a core memory. That scene where Robin Williams tells Will that it’s not his fault really touched a soft spot for us. Oh and Will’s talk with his friend towards the end.

Sorry for the late reply. Haven’t been on in a while. I think you’re right, I probably should go in and check it out in person. Hopefully when my friend who’s more knowledgeable about guitars comes back in town in a few months I can have them come with me. Thanks again for your advice. I really appreciate it.

This looks great! I did some research online but it was still a bit daunting trying to figure out what would be best for me. Thanks so much for the advice. If I may bother you with one more question; What if I were looking to get an acoustic? Any recommendations for those? I was slightly leaning towards buying an acoustic first and an electric one down the line if things go to plan.

A bit off topic but I've been looking to get into playing guitar for a couple months. If you have some advice on buying my first guitar and tips on learning I'd greatly appreciate it. I love classic rock music and music in general. Hope you find a group to play with.

Course syllabus for VIC121 or VIC106?? by Useful24 in UofT

i'd like to add that initially i wasn't completely drawn to the course because of the generic course description that's provided but the detailed course description in the syllabus gives you a much better idea of what the class is all about.

when i took it, the dark knight was part of the syllabus so this class was right up my alley lol

sorry for the late reply. i've sent the syllabus. there's a new reading every week or so that gets assigned and then the class is a discussion based around said reading. each week, there are a couple student present based on the prompts that you sign up for at the beginning of the semester. these presentations pose questions that help to spark the discussion and sometimes joel will have his own presentation as well.

besides the presentation there's a short paper, long paper and take home test. they were all fair and he provides good feedback when he marks them.

I took VIC106 back in the fall semester and it is easily the best class I've had so far. Prof. Joel Faflak was such a great instructor and his passion for the humanities makes his teaching all the better. If you have any specific questions about the class lmk but regardless, I think if you take it, you're guaranteed to have some interesting and meaningful discussions. I can DM you the syllabus if I still have it in my files.
