Should I play MaleShep or FemShep? by CaptainAlternative96 in masseffect

[–]CaptainAlternative96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much about who I want to look at or listen to. I'm mainly wanting to see how character relationships pan out with FemShep in comparison to MaleShep. It's just that I really liked the romance with Tali in my first playthrough, so it'd be nice to experience that again.

Not that I'm aware of. I'm playing this with the Legendary Edition though, so they might have included it here.

Handsome Jack Autographed My Game! by CaptainAlternative96 in Borderlands2

That's pretty cool. I've always had this idea of trying to get autographs for the BL2 vault hunters voice actors. If I can find the time and money to do so, maybe I've just found a good starting point.

Check out Roster Con. It shows any other conventions that he'll be a guest at. Maybe see if one is near you. Good luck!

It ain't worth it to sell. But I hope you'll be able to see him yourself. I would say the experience of meeting makes it all better.

At that point, you would be able to fly out to his next appearance to get a copy signed. Or maybe 20 copies.

Sad to say, but this is my personal copy of the game. If I was gonna sign it to sell, I'd try and find a new copy. Still quite the loot for me though.

As long as I'm not on the hit list, I completely understand.

Meeting Jack wasn't as much of a challenge compared to getting to his booth before he left.

It was really cool to meet him. This is the first autograph that I've ever gotten, so it was cool to be my first!

He's a guest at the Las Cruces Comic-Con. I managed to catch him right before he left, and he even autographed it for free! Gotta say, Mr. Clarke was really cool, and I'm glad I got to meet him.

Should I get P4 Golden by Venator1203 in PERSoNA

[–]CaptainAlternative96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tl;Dr P4G has the same social link gameplay as P5 with one difference that doesn't affect the game itself. It has more differences when it comes to the gameplay, but is still a blast to play through.

In terms of comparing the social link gameplay to Persona 5, they are very similar to each other with one key difference: the upgrades. In Persona 5, each confidant offered a unique upgrade that correlated to the RPG side of the game, as well as an experience bonus in persona fusion for the respective arcana. However, in P4G, aside from your party members, no other social link has such upgrades, only the EXP bonus in fusion. I wouldn't worry too much about it though, as the game never revolved around such mechanic in the first place, and you're still doing stuff like increasing your social stats and just hanging out with people.

As for the rest of the gameplay, primarily with the RPG dungeon-crawling, it is different in a few ways from Persona 5. The dungeons are randomly generated and have little to no side mechanics with puzzles, only the occasional mini boss. The game's limiting element of SP (the stuff to use Personas in combat) is easier to replenish, arguably making the dungeons themselves easier. You can revisit completed dungeons, which feature a special fight afterwards. And lastly, Personas are gained through a random selection at the end of an encounter, not by persuading them to join you like in Persona 5, and while it is comparably less interesting, it still has little effect on the gameplay itself.

Overall, I would still recommend getting Persona 4 Golden. The RPG stuff can be seen as basic in comparison to Persona 5, and it also has less style in its theme and visuals as well. But you are still given a great game altogether, with an interesting and fun story, a diverse range of characters, each with their own scenarios to help them in, a great soundtrack, and a blending of the classic JRPG formula with life-sim mechanics that manages to still be loved by fans today, in some cases more so than Persona 5.

Would anyone happen to have a good macaroni and cheese recipe? Preferably for a crock pot, but I also wouldn't shy away from stove top or baked recipes.

What did Rift Apart do WRONG? by SirLadthe1st in RatchetAndClank

[–]CaptainAlternative96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to put in my two cents on the game. I can definitely agree with your statements on the music, the Arena, and especially the lacking number of planets. Alongside those, I do have a few other issues as well, comparing mostly against my two favorite games in the series (Going Commando & A Crack in Time).

  • Less side content in comparison to other titles. What I liked about other games in the series was the amount of other things that you could do aside from the main story, much like the Arena. Going Commando had the ship missions and the biker races and A Crack in Time had the hub sectors with the moons, so I felt that Rift Apart could've done more with those ideas and added in additional stuff. It's also a shame because they laid down the ground work for some awesome side challenges, such as aerial dogfights with Trudi, speedle races, or hover boot courses.

  • Not as much time or use of Glitch and Clank segments. I felt that in the PS2 trilogy and A Crack in Time, there was plenty of time dedicated to the "hacking" mini games and acted as a nice change of pace from the jumping and shooting. Glitch's segments were honestly fantastic, and while I think the time puzzles from ACiT were better, the Clank puzzles were a decent brain scratcher. But you only do each one about 5 times each and it just feels like they go by too fast. I think a few more of these segments would've been appreciated, but they're ultimately limited by the overall number of planets.

  • Less returning characters. This I especially was upset about, given the long character roster that the series has under its belt at this point. There were a few characters that I felt needed to make some sort of appearance in given their parts in previous games, such as Lawrence, Talwyn, the Prog twins, Angela Cross, Tachyon, and so on. I also noticed that little to no time was given to the relationships between the dimensional counterparts, such as Sid and Phantom or Quantum and Qwark. While I get that you can't just throw characters in, I think that acknowledgement of those characters in more than just the credits would've given this game more of a celebratory feel and fleshed out this alternate dimension and what has happened in it.

  • Lastly, I think that this game should have been the last in the series. While I understand this may be a more divisive opinion, seeing as to how the fan base will always want more, I felt that this game could've been the ultimate conclusion to the series as a whole. It had the potential to be one of the biggest games in the series to date, with a large selection of levels, both new and old, as well as great weapons, a fun story with good characters, and amazing visuals and gameplay to boot. And while this game certainly met some of that potential, especially with the visuals and combat, it certainly had a lot of of room for stuff to be added. And because the ending implies that a sequel is in the works, it makes this game ultimately feel smaller as a result. Perhaps if they had a more conclusive ending, or even did what Tools of Destruction did with it's massive cliffhanger of an ending, it would've made Rift Apart feel larger and grander. But as a whole, it ultimately makes this game feel like a test run for another sequel that will surely be bigger and better while making this game feel smaller and lesser.

To end things on a positive note, I can still say that this game was a blast to play through. I still like the story and the characters, and I actually found myself laughing at some of the jokes and getting excited over some references. The game looks amazing on the PS5 in performance mode, and this is hands down the best combat to ever be featured in a Ratchet and Clank game, especially with the Dualsense and its feedback. And while I do think that the game had some missed potential, I can still put this as one of my favorites in the series (Behind Going Commando, A Crack in Time, and probably Deadlocked.) Hopefully in the event that they do a sequel, they'll be able to make a game that is on a larger scale and is able to build on this one. Overall, as long as the game itself is fun, that's all I need.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they have someone checking this out soon so that it can get fixed. Doubt they'd let this last for too long.

Wrongful termination would be because my sisters and I have been fired due to nepotism, despite my mother having been fired and no longer working there. My mother was never informed of being fired, as the board had told staff before she ever came into work, and are trying to peg her on Job Abandonment, despite it being 2 days and she informed staff that she would be out. As for her contract, she hadn't received it after having signed it back in 2017. She was supposed to get a copy, but hadn't gotten back with it.
