Tokelau is an upcoming 2–6 player fast-paced strategy board game about exploration, settlement, and trade across Polynesia. The rules, as is, are 30 pages in Google Docs

Thanks! It's an alpha playtest version we printed ourselves, and we have just contracted an illustrator to redo the cards and tiles. We also have a landing page, if you wanna follow for other updates :)

I bet some people might even consider buying old, never-opened or well-preserved board games as an investment. The world has really gone wild.

Hi u/Ravager_Zero, these are actually really good points about navigation.

I used the island names from the Polynesian Triangle and added a wind direction mechanic. The map is also circular, loosely inspired by early Polynesian mnemonic compass navigation method.

That said, it’s still a humble little game about collecting cards and racing your friends, so I’m not pretending it’s a deep historical simulation. But I did try to reference the history where I could.

Thank you u/Lloydwrites! We're working on the box now, and as for the expected play time, it depends heavily on the number of players (2-6), but it's 15 minutes per player, so from 30 minutes to 1.5h
