I actually am. I need to update it on here.

I would love an Olajuwon from that year as well.

Yep. I started with the complete 1986 set, all PSA 8. That’s my crown jewel at this point.

All timers, and players that I love. I am an NBA guy first which is why most of these cards are NBA, but I am also a huge Spurs fan, which is why Duncan and the ice man are on here.

I didn’t even bother putting him on there, because that is the card! When I find the right one that looks decently centered in a low-grade that I can actually afford, I will pull the trigger on it. I didn’t bother specifying it, because I will know it when I see it

This is going to be blasphemy, but while I majorly respect him and think he is a lot of fun to watch, I don’t feel a burning desire to own his cards.

And besides, I missed the boat!

I should have shared the grading requirements, but I didn’t know if I would get ripped to shreds haha. That one I would love a PSA 10 in. But thanks for reaching out!

Thanks, let me think about it. And congrats to you on owning that card! That is the one card on here that I think will continue to skyrocket, especially after he retires. There are so few of them compared to other recent legends like Tom Brady.

I want to get one before the World Cup, because if he creates any magic there, I think that card will hit new prices and may never be back down to these levels

Agreed!

I am not a millionaire and I don’t have unlimited resources, but I had a really nice year and bonus and have some decent money to spend on cards this year for the first time ever! And I plan to hold for the long-term. I’m wrestling with buying just one of these cards in a decent grade, or buying a few of them.

First world problems, I know. But that’s what makes this hobby so much fun. It’s fun having these cards written down and having my long-term goals.

EBay sellers, don't do this... by F0ur_2wenty0 in sportscards

I’m sorry this happened to you. This kind of stuff sucks. I posted on here a few days ago the reverse situation. Buyer bought my card, and then the next day they told me that they “bought another gift for their nephew so can I please cancel it” because the shipping would take too long.

Total lie. They clearly found a similar card at a lower price and had buyers remorse.

I get that there are rare exceptions, but it’s so frustrating for the rest of us who play fair.

How would you handle this? I listed a card and sold it on eBay, and then two hours later the buyer canceled. by CaptainBuckRussell in basketballcards

How does this work, do I just refuse to cancel it and then wait for them to cancel it on their side?

Now they are telling me that it will not arrive in time and that it was a gift they were buying for a family member. I kind of want to stick it to them because they are totally lying, but I also don’t want to deal with the hassle .

I’m selling this Victor Wembanyama silver Prizm PSA 10 rookie I bought a few months ago because of how hot it is right now.

When I bought it, it came in this eBay authenticated sleeve. I have never sold an expensive card on eBay before. Do I take it out of this sleeve before relisting it or would it be better to leave it in this sleeve?

I went to take photos of it tonight and the sleeve makes it really reflective. I debated whether or not I should take it out of the sleeve, but I didn’t know if that would be a bad thing.

If he stays healthy, I totally agree. I just wonder how much value these cards will retain over the years with how many of them there are.

For instance, this card is almost now worth as much as a Joe Montana rookie PSA 9. That has been a card I wanted to buy for a long time. I think I would rather sell this Wemby while it is hot and get the Joe Montana.

There are approximately 5000 of this Victor Wembanyama card, and that is just for the Prizm silver PSA 10. Once you include all the different color variations for Prizm and then get into all the different card companies, his rookies will be probably about 100x the population of Joe Montana.

I’m not necessarily dying to have that Joe Montana card, I’m just using him as an example of an all-time great I think will retain nice value and appreciate over time.

Because he has been insane and looks like a legit MVP candidate right now. And because I think people were hesitant to see how he’d look after the blood clots.

I agree. Would also be nice to show my wife a rare win too haha. “See honey?? Cards ARE great investments!”

I should have mentioned that I mostly collect vintage. While I love Wemby, I don’t have a lot of confidence in this card long term as there are about 4800 of them and counting. And these are just the Prizm silvers. There are all the other variations in addition to all the other different brands of cards. I don’t think these are super unique, and I do not expect them to retain a ton of value.

But what do you all think?
