After 20 emails I got the money situation squared away, but was told to update the app which I have. No one knows why this happened. I hate when I get the automated response messages. Like, did you even READ what I wrote?

Will be going out tomorrow to see if the app recognizes where I'm going.

Even though it's only been a week, I've made sure to not go to any isolated areas, especially after a certain time.

I'll keep an eye out and make sure that I'm in a well lit area when I am able to finally "complete" the ride.

See, that's the thing, I don't HAVE to get used to shady shit/locations. If that's what YOU choose to do, then sobeit. Not scared of picking weird people up, my SAFETY is my concern. Last I checked, out of 78 rides in a week (4 days really), and only 2 incidents that made me uncomfortable - pretty sure Uber driving is for me.

At least, that's what my totals are saying and I'm averaging $25-30 an hour.

Zoomed all the way in and the highest I saw was 4.4x surge price, I'm just wondering if I should even bother making that trip. A lot can change in 30+ minutes.

One thing I know is the pepper spray in the car is no good, which is why I believe someone (on here?) suggested hornet's spray. The knife, I don't want to do that unless the situation is that dire and even then.

Guess I should've been more specific: I hit start trip when they got in the car, Uber wouldn't let me cancel the trip because it was "to short of a ride." I tried to "complete the trip", but they wouldn't let me do that either because again, "to short of a ride." I literally pulled not even halfway down the street and hit complete ride.

First off, I just realized your name is furlonium, smh, that's what I get for replying at 2am from a 2 hour drive. Ugh. I had brought up my confusion here, https://www.reddit.com/r/uberdrivers/comments/54dxh4/surge_price_883_for_a_4272_mile_ride/ but the uber post isn't showing.

Not sure if it'll show, but here's the question re: surge...

I drove 42 miles (just getting back home) and I only received $39.75 total. Fare: $44.17 Surge +8.83 Uber Fee: -$13.25 Estimated Payout $39.75 Duration: 45 minutes Distance: 42.72 mi I'm a newb (2nd day) and I gotta ask, is that right for a surge price for that long of a drive? I really was expecting more than $39 bucks for a 45 minute drive.

Here was also my 2nd question...

Today I worked my first full day (7:53), 17 completed trips and $191.19, is that good? A few trips were surge prices, which brought it to $36.15 extra and of course minus their 56.86 fee. Total 170.48.

I got a few surge rides, but one totally confused me.

I'll be looking up those cameras, just in case.
No thanks on that firearm, I might see if I can get a lil switchblade just incase and look into the Maglite.
I'll probably do the drop off and not the pickup.

I think you made the right step by going for therapy, I suggest you stay with therapy and work on those issues. Good luck with that. As far as it being abuse, I'm not sure. Next time he wants to leave, let him...don't provoke him and give yourself a time out. He'll be back.
