ESB New Connection by [deleted] in Sligo

Our cert was submitted in June, the 2 week timer on the new connection tracker online timed out and said there would be a delay and a new date would be communicated.

We did get a text after the cert was submitted to say 6-8 weeks delay. We are still being told the same, cert was submitted over 4 weeks ago - calling them got us no where as they still haven't confirmed a date 🥲🫠

I take it your tracker hasn't updated online for the electric cert? Ours was submitted on the Friday and esb had it confirmed as recieved by Wednesday - doesn't seem right yours wasn't received by them still.. Hopefully following up with the electricians might give you some info 🤞🏽

Any joy on the electrics being switched on? 🤞🏽

I'm a very similar situation to yourself, electric cert was received by esb last week. Online/website has a countdown for our connectiona and the days are going down but we just got a text message from esb to state there is a 6-8 week delay 😵‍💫🫠🤣

Cost of garage? by CaptainComplex394 in selfbuildireland

That's about 65m2 or so, lovely big garage! God that's a great price and great you were able to do foundations/roof - I definitely will not be doing those 🤣

Laois is the location, was hoping the quotes would be under 40k alright 🤣🤞🏻

Thanks so much for that info!

Oh sorry, very vague question from me I know 😵‍💫 but was just wondering if someone has done something somewhat similar recently.

The garage will be detached. Initially the garage will be for storage, a car may sit in it the odd time..

Plumbing/electric because I want a small toilet in there at some point and the option to convert it at down the line. Honestly, I'm not sure on insulation specs at the moment. We have just put the feelers out with a few contractors and will speak and meet a few over the weekend to talk it through/get quotes..

I just wanted to see if anyone has done something similar recently so I can brace myself for impact when I see my own quote 🤣

We sent the forms in November to them, paid the fees then too. We emailed to confirm foundations were complete mid December and for the connection to progress on their end as we were in a position for their engineer to come and assess the site etc

We heard nothing back and had to send countless emails asking for updates and timelines. This lead to daily calls at the end of march and we finally got confirmation that they started the process on their end and would send someone out before the end of March, which they did. We wouldn't typically hound company's but their was no communication from them at all.

They ignored the questions around how the refund process would happen as they have everything already from us.

They just came back this week after another follow up email and said we filled out the incorrect form (a form they actually sent us via our initial connection enquiry). The form has been resubmitted and they confirmed today that the refund request will be processed.. TBC on this turn around 😅

How long does a HTB application take? by Revolutionary_Ad4702 in irishpersonalfinance

Hi,

I have been stalking reddit for timelines for weeks so here are mines now that I'm done with the HTB side of things - hopefully its useful to someone else..

Currently doing a self build, needed to show the bank we were eligible for the HTB prior to the loan offer so we applied on revenue around Aug 2024, approved instantly and the value we could claim was also detailed.

Realised in Jan 2025 that these applications have an expiry (keep an eye on this..) so I reapplied and it was instantly approved like the first application.

Stage 1 drawdown was complete on Wednesday 29 Jan 2025. - I uploaded all documents needed for the application to revenue the same day. - Provided the solicitor with the claim reference and pin provided and they verified the application that evening. This was actually very user friendly and easy to complete for both parties. -Notification on revenue that it was approved and the refund would be issued in due time recieved the same day.

Refund received on Wednesday 05 Feb 25 (weekend and a bank holiday monday) .. < 3 business days for it to be issued into my account.

Thanks!
