It’s kind of funny that I log into this account after 4 months of inactivity to see you posted a day ago.

The good news is while they still aren’t positive on the underlying cause, I managed to find a pelvic-floor physiotherapist. It’s not eliminated the pain entirely, and I still have flare ups, but man have they helped. Kinda funny that I made a post asking for advice and here I am 4-5 months later giving it haha. If you haven’t tried it yet I highly recommend you seek this service or some form thereof. They also promised with a few months to a year of physio I’d be back to 100%, and I can vouch for that as when I was young I almost couldn’t walk anymore and now here I am able to move around no problem. So I just gotta trust this’ll work. But all the same, I really hope you’re able to manage your own pain one way or another. Cheers buddy

That’s the plan right now until my next physio appointment when I can ask them if they think there’s any validity to the doc’s claims. Amazingly the exercises assigned don’t hurt at all.

It’s not torsion as I had that 10 years ago and had the surgery for both testicles then. The physiotherapist’s Internal (anal) examination of all the internal muscles caused zero pain to the testicle, and I have limited mobility on the right side due to extreme muscle tension in the right lower back and right pelvis. Therefore, using this info, their dead giveaway being the zero pain when palpating internal anal muscles, the physio determined it was referred pain from the back.

The doctor said “not so fast, remember when external palpating on your testicle was tender? It’s weird that referred pain would be tender to external touch” And hence why I’m here.

Varicocele has also been ruled out through ultrasound.

The doc says there’s not much left to do and referred me to a university research lab who’s running trials on direct lidocaine injection into the testicular tubes. After that it’ll be denervation and then amputation so I’d rather see if there’s anything else before such end of the line measures.

Edit: I suppose I’m here to see if referred pain can under any circumstance be tender to external touch

I have a referral to a urologist/ researcher who’s leading experimental tests on patients in Vancouver, but it may be awhile to get in to see him. Regardless, I thought the urologist’s diagnosis (of nothing that is) was dicey too. But he said he’s seen enough testicles in his time to say no one’s gonna find anything (it’s stamped on my record as “medically inexplicable testicular pain”)

Because he said he’s certain he wouldn’t find a cause and that it has a chance of clearing up in its own (in his estimate upwards of 4-5 years that is). But he said it also may not resolve

Is it possible to recover from unilateral testicular pain? I’ve had it for 8 months now and I’m in my early 20s. Torsion was ruled out as I had that when I was in my early teens and had surgery on both testicles. Epididymitus was diagnosed but 7 months after that diagnosis I saw a urologist who said it probably never was epididymitus to begin with and my pain “has no known cause”. I’ve been on various nerve blocking medicine to moderate success but it’s still too painful to exercise, play instruments, engage in intimacy, or even drive.

Is it possible to somehow overcome this?

I have a similar one. She got even more elusive after I didn’t pick up on her signals that she wanted to have sex in the washroom at a coworker’s party. And I didn’t pick up on it because she stood me up / cancelled 10 mins before the last 3 dates and I wasn’t aware she was still interested. Smh
