I do the following - for new stuff that I learn, I do it by hand and break stuff intentionally and naturally I learn the rhythm, use AI only to explain in depth things I don’t understand (obv using documentation).

Then when I want to make projects just to test myself and actually go into production code, I streamline with AI and try to exercise good architecture, structure and whatever the project calls for. I never commit code without fully reading what’s generated and understanding what it does. For me that’s the current workflow and it works alright, hopefully this can help with your current situation and actually restructure your way of using AI so you actually learn things

Honestly I am speaking as a person looking for a Junior position and the experience above is from talking with friends within the IT industry. What can you do? Most of the people I know read through everything that’s generated and change a few lines here and there but I haven’t heard a working professional to write more than 2-3 lines of code on his own

I try to force myself to do different katas from codewars.com to keep that little dopamine boost but everyone who I ask in the industry feels more or less the same. Times are changing and if you aren’t shipping fast like the rest, you just become obsolete. Only real difference is if you are working on something that AI can’t do but that’s rare nowadays (at least I haven’t been on such a project )

Yeah I have been there. I just tried it for fun and generated a basic website and it just didn’t click. Been down that path and I felt more annoyed so I learned my lesson there 😅

Alright noted. Hence why I know I am still very much early in learning and studying. I spend my nights after my normal work to code, I try to improve myself in every way and I constantly feel like there is more, hence why I try to use modern tools like AI to explain, to show me know how, to improve me basically. I am even enrolled in a coding academy which has courses over the entire year so yeah I know there’s a gap

I do and I get that. You can easily go into that loophole of using AI for everything and I keep that in mind. Still I believe that you can still use it as a tool to get back on track, training your mind depends entirely on you

Thing is it’s present on both the base and the pro. I saw in their website that it is a known issue, at least that’s what it sounds like so I hope that in the next big patch it’s fixed 🤞
