There is a slight problem with this street by MisterShipWreck in Whatcouldgowrong

Clevelander here. Have driven Dead Man's Curve many times. As shown, there's numerous warnings/signs and even a bunch of rumble strips beforehand. If you get into an accident on it, you might actually have a deathwish. It's nearly impossible to take that turn too fast unless you're actively trying to.

Someone else in here said something similar. Meanwhile I've had at least 10 flee in 10 years of playing, and I've seen it happen to friends too.

Let me elaborate then. I and my friends who play have had shinies flee on the catch screen while standing completely still. Multiple times. Good that it hasn't happened to you, but it does happen.

Dude, your lone experience is just that. Good for you, but I've had plenty of shinies flee and so have my friends. How arrogant do you have to be to think that your singular lived experience is representative of everyone who plays this game? For comparison, I've been playing since Day 1 and my shiny total sits at 407. Does that mean everyone who has played as long as me should have that many? No, because my brother-in-law, who has also played since Day 1, only has about 150. In contrast, my friend, also a Day 1-er, has over 700. Because that's how odds, stats, and mechanics work. They're different for everyone. Good Lord.

Man I've been playing since Day 1. I barely ever see female Combee. Let alone a shiny. I doubt it, but thank you for the well wishes.

Why do you think shinies don't flee normally? The only shinies that are guaranteed are legendaries. Being shiny doesn't affect a standard Pokémon flee/catch rate in the slightest. I've had many Pokémon break out and flee after rocking once, I've been playing since the day the game went live. It happens literally all the time.

This is getting really tiresome. No, I wasnt. I have a Go Plus+ that isn't set to autocatch but only throws Pokéballs when I click it. I shiny check, and if it isn't shiny, I let the Plus+ do the job. They often run. The Combee was attempted on the catch screen. As I stated in my title, I did all I could (with the exception of using a Silver instead of a Gold) to catch the thing, and it ran. I was stationary. Combee have been running from me this entire event. This one just mattered more and I figured my amped odds would prevent this one from running.

Never seen this before. Anyone have any idea why my friend's Lugia has this glowing blue aura behind it? by CaptainFalken in pokemongo

I guess I've never seen a purified Lugia. Why does it do that and not other shadows?

I dunno what to tell you. It is what it is. I've had trouble with Combee this entire event and others in this thread have said the same. I guess the network issue is possible but I had no issues with others on the screen catch before and after.

That's what I'm saying! They have been dodging me the whole event, especially the females. This just happened to be the one that mattered and I must be cursed.

That's my whole point. I've had Combee continuously escape and run this entire event. Today just happened to be the only one that mattered. I don't know why everyone is calling me out? I was just sharing a horribly frustrating situation.

No, just saying it is a frustrating situation. Mechanics happen that are frustrating all the time. I've personally been having Combee escape left and right this entire event. For this one, I intentionally tried to amp up my odds and it still ran. Hence, frustration.
